Wireline engineers make $25k more in base salary than wireless engineers and the competition. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why all the wireline service and order support had to move offshore to Manila and India.
I got riffed and am off the books come September. I doubt there will be a VSP.

In 1995 and 1996 wireline was still profitable. Now it is just a worthless relic including its employees.
Give a 6&6 &$500 like New York telephone did in 1995 or 1996 and many will leave.
No one needs a package. At least outside. Everyone there is pushing 30 yrs service, they can all go without a package, and they will. For those left, damn that sucks.
