Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

DP's Thursday Covid Email

A completely blank email would have communicated the same amount of information and saved the company a million dollars of wasted time spent reading it.

Corporate emails are written a) to avoid lawsuits by being vague, b) to be 'leaked' to stock analysts to impress them. Way down the list is to be informative.

DP should change his name to TP.

Chevron WSLs on the rigs are sheep and have been for a long time. They follow directions from a written program, real time center monitors their every move and tells them how to drill, what bits to run and how to clean the ho-e and trip. Very little is up to them. Including the call on vaccine. Most are happy with the status quo and not rocking the boat, even if their political views are right. They will fall in line with Chevron policy 1) because the are too scared to do otherwise 2) they love their paycheck too much and 3) they are not all that competent to get a job elsewhere…..no one should be worried about the operations and what happens. Midcon has double the number of ops guy ready to take each other’s spots…..it’s not hard to do a mediocre job and follow policy and many are willing.

It was obvious several months ago to anyone with more than one brain cell that Delta would stop the return to work. Now that even the vaccinated can spread it around , that simply makes it evn more true. Retun to work in September just at the weather starts to get colder, id--tic.

Those that have so far refused love life, their families, and their health. There is no recourse if any of those are damaged. Pfizer's not liable, neither is the CDC, NIH, WHO, & CVX. Their insurance company will only pay for the diagnosis, not treatment of any vaccine-caused damage. Good luck trying to get a penny from the National Vaccine Injury Fund.

People love money and an easy job. Very few would quit over a vax.

If you think we're only going to lose a few people then you're not looking at the same data I am. We make money (for the time being) producing and selling crude, NG/NGL, and chemical/derivative products. The people that actually do this at facility, field, and non-office locations are mostly unvaccinated, and will definitely will remain unvaccinated if DP and company makes the fatal mistake of forcing their hands.

To Chevron informants and execs that read this. This will be Chevron's New Coke moment if you try to force vaccines. You may be a few years away from retirement, but you will do lasting damage to the company and shareholders.

They’ll just make the vaccine mandatory. They’ll lose a few people, but not many.

There are potentially 2 outcomes:

1- delay return to work until 2022
2- make vaccine mandatory and return to work by Oct 1st

This is the best example of our great decision making process at chevron. Maybe I should say lack of decision making process. We waffle back and forth, never wanting to fully commit to anything unless everyone has bought off.

DP is a waste of space and fuels the divide.

Amazon now is delaying their return to the office now until January. Others will
Follow suit. You get to stay home and attend all your meetings in bed and continue to spend only a short few hours a day actually doing any work.

This company, not being able to decide whether to go back to the office or not, is nuts. So many others are back in the office either full time or hybrid along with travel via airplanes and rental cars and hotels and team events. And at the same time ya’ll are going to restaurants, sporting events and vacations. So much irony!
