My team has a lot of hard working people. Most are productive but there is one that makes us want to pull our hair out. He’s like a bump on a log; it’s just there but has no real purpose. Meanwhile, there are others who multitask and get actual work done while trying to keep the team afloat. We’re hoping he gets weeded out but we’re not that lucky. Every layoff round he survives. That tells you enough about the criteria they use when deciding who to cut.

Sounds like a glitch in the matrix. He is probably related to a VP. Tread lightly. Nepotism is alive and well.
Sounds like the bump has the system worked out better than you. Since the pay structure is socialist in nature, why do any extra work?
Funny! Bump on log.
I am a-s kisser. You guys act like a cult.
You remind me of three blind mice. You will follow anyone and do what ever you told. Even when it puts your customer at risk. By not following process in order get more parts out.
You violate state, federal laws, and safety of others in order to achieve any numbers they want you to make. Just keep working harder, so they can close your site down faster. Work yourself right out of a job.
They will always have layoffs. Because you love overtime like a dr-g addict. He-l! Let’s cut you staff further. You mindless slaves will work harder and flex more.
I know we hired the right people. Wonder how many more heads we can cut. Let’s get you down to one person or two. So we can save more money, and since you like flexing and working harder for me. I will return you loyalty by allowing you to work Monday - Sunday. Even all holidays and when end up in hospital or in graveyard. In return for your loyalty. I will replace you with cheaper labor, who will be my new slaves.
Let’s keep the motto. There’s nothing in life other than Honeywell. My so purpose in life is to work 365 days. I will work 24 hours days.
I also will believe anything you tell me. Then you wonder why we have layoffs, furloughs, and reduction in force. My mindless employees will do anything I tell them. They are in capable living in reality. Wow. If you cannot see where this company is going you all deserve to lose your jobs. It’s not loyalty. You guys are not in reality.
Sounds like you don't have enough to do if you have time to critique your colleague's performance. Or is it a bit of professional jealousy? Either way, stick to doing your job and leave it alone.
Treat that bump well. It may well metastasize into being your boss one day.
Sounds like you need to mind your own business or leave.
For @wav+1cbyz8CF, Haha! "Honeywell loves me. I work hard and they know who I am. Hee-hawww!!!"
Is his name Mike Madsen by any chance?
Bump on a log = consummate politician / brown nose
Beware when Psycho Billy jumps off that log.
The "Bump on a log" will be the first one promoted and the last to be in a RIF.
"Bump on a log" poses no threat to the status quo.
