Training is seriously lacking

Why do some supervisors think that berating your employees is an effective way of training and managing? We keep getting new employees who have supposedly been through training but they still have no idea how to do half of the stuff because the person responsible for training them thought it was something they should have known already and refused to "waste any time on it." Guess who then has to put their own work aside to make sure they know what they're doing?

They broke up asset servicing to push jobs to India. They put all the low performing employees in the call center to make them quit and kept the rest of us to work with the good clients. There gonna start with them first. Then how long will it take to get rid of us to?

Mostly correct, @wlj, except it's not just the weakest who are let go.

It is because what was once a fine organization of people who worked together to achieve greatness became infiltrated with employees from other organizations that brought in new ways to inspire people that they learned their previous employer. You may not have gotten rich working for BNY Mellon, but you took pride in helping your clients and developing your team members. Now you have to force rank them and push the weakest ones out the door annually. Who would help another over the cost of not saving yourself? And don’t forget to tell the clients that special report or data feed they want is not available…..take the base options or go elsewhere. It’s a damn shame.

They want all Employees to get this ugly experience so that they get to know their future. Smart Employees immediately leave the org and those who wait get to work with these unethical managers. The worst part is their is no sign of remorse or guilt in their faces for crushing someone's hopes or ambition in life and you only get suicidal thoughts looking at these supervisors.
