“Experts list many reasons for the vaccine slump, but one big reason stands out: vaccine resistance among conservative, evangelical, and rural Americans. Pro-Trump America has decided that vaccine refusal is a statement of identity and a test of loyalty.”

Facts First: This is misleading and needs context. Only New York City has announced a vaccine passport requirement and the White House has said repeatedly there WON’T be a federally mandated vaccine passport.

Who said anything about traveling out of the country? Vaccine passports are being talked about to do ANYTHING domestically.

"The way people are giving up their rights to power is amazing. Vaccine passports, requirements: this is insanity."

Have you ever travelled out of the country? For the people that do have they given up there rights when they have to be vaccinated for:
Anthrax.
Cholera.
Hepatitis A.
Japanese Encephalitis.
Polio.
Rabies (pre- and post-exposure)
Typhoid.
Hepatitis A & B Combination Vaccine.

To the person talking about Red and GOP. I’m blue and still won’t get the vaccine.

To me it’s not about politics

You do realize that vaccinated people are spreading the virus just as unvaccinated, right? This vaccine does not ki-l the virus. People who have it are still a carrier. Your logic is off and makes you sound like a grumpy lib. I know you want the unvaxxed to be your boogie man because your news sources (which by the way have low viewership since your boy Trump is gone) but it doesn't stack up.

The way people are giving up their rights to power is amazing. Vaccine passports, requirements: this is insanity.

Yes, I blame anti-vaxxer employees for prolonging the Covid Crisis via their vulgar lack of critical thinking skills and their psychotic addiction to authoritarian-authored, GOP-inspired conspiracy theories that fly in the face of reason, basic science, and the overwhelming evidence that the Covid vaccines are safe and the key to ending this pandemic and giving us the FREEDOM-FROM-COVID that we all seek. What’s shocking is how long it took for Ascension and other hospital systems to do the right thing. But when the American Hospital Association declared support for mandatory vaccination, Ascension leadership (in spite of their usual GOP-inspired authoritarian leanings) bowed to pressure:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2021/07/21/covid-shots-health-care-workers/

The Florida panhandle — let’s face it — that’s an extension of politically-clueless SOUTH ALABAMA. No wonder anti-vaxxers feel sufficiently comfortable to go public with their “grievances”. They know they’re being cheered on by local executives in positions of power.

If you look at any election map in the United States that is red or blue in certain areas, the following axiom is almost always true: “Blue areas (areas where people vote Democratic) are urban centers or university centers and Red areas represent the more sparsely-populated rural areas where the GOP dominates. That’s true of Florida. That’s true of any state in the United States.

And, in my view, it’s these Red areas where conspiracy theories and worship of authoritarian values take hold among people of all demographics. It’s where even well-to-do community leadership often opposes progressive solutions (Medicare-for-All, fair wages, safe clean mass transit, environmental protection, free education, equal opportunity). Obvious solutions routinely get shot down by superstition and perverted reasoning that perpetuates class division, worship of corporate aristocracy, misery, addiction to dr-gs, unsafe workplaces, economic inequality, and shameful environmental disregard. It short, that kind of thinking constitutes “Wall-Street-Policy-Disguised-As-Christianity” — contrary to the best interest of the very rural folks in the American South and West who foolishly follow these pied pipers. Hannity. Carlson. Gaetz. DeSantis. These are the court jesters of Wall Street. They are a reflection of American weakness. Of American decay. Of American rot. Thanks to them—this country has very little time left. And thanks to them—a lot of people have already needlessly died.

Speaking of Jesus, would it be nice if today’s churches actually read what Jesus allegedly said?

Maybe then these churches wouldn’t be neck deep in fraud scandals:

OP: Are you blaming employees for COVID, or for making a choice? What do you care if the employees are vaccinated or not? Realistically, the vaccinated ones are more dangerous, they just want to take something quick, mask their symptoms & get on with their crazy, irresponsible life, not having to wash their hands ever again & coughing in other people's faces like they used to.

DeSantis:

“Hospitals are having a tough time retaining staff."

Ahem. Could it be possible hospitals might be having such a tough time retaining staff because they’re sending the jobs to India???? To save a buck. To keep the high salaries flowing to the executives who support Ron DeSantis — King of Obedience to Authoritarian Values. Values that extoll the virtues of privilege, “executive aristocracy”, worker devaluation, and environmental degradation. Oh, now I get it.
