For those of you that don’t know, T follows. They don’t lead. This mandatory vax decision is a good example; they were not the first major corporation to come out with it. If you’ve been watching the news over the last 48 hours, starting with Facebook and with many others now following, they are keeping folks remote until Jan now based on the surge of the delta variant. T will follow, because that’s what they always do. The Oct 11 date will be moot, except for the small population that needs to stay in the office. Another poorly thought out and executed edict. They could have waited another week or 2 and just seen what the other corporations did (per usual) and saved a lot of hate and discontent,

T wants people out, we all know that and they also know that those who have the belief "my rights, my body, my choice" are those that need to be out. T is not stupid. They actually have good legal team and set of lawyers. Whatever they are doing is LEGAL, may not be ethical, but who cares ab out that.
"That was Legacy T. This T is SBC. Totally different thing. SBC T creates nothing. It takes the cash flow from a quasi-monopoly based on public spectrum and right-of-way and tries to create an image of growth for Wall Street by buying other companies. It pays too much for and utterly sucks at managing what it buys, so it strips them down to create an illusion of business growth. You'll never see anything innovative like UNIX coming out of this version of T. Never happen."
Case closed then, you apparently know everything, or do you?
Your words "utterly sucks at managing what it buys"
Those are millennial words so I know your age.
What was SBC prior to 1984?
@1nko, Damaged in this case is a legal term.
So u think T will extend work from home till January for the people that don’t need to be in the office?? Still waiting to hear about this I’m assuming a decision is coming within the next week or 2 on this
Most states are employment at will. So you can leave or they can let you go for no reason. You're trying to pick a fight you're not going to win.
Unix can't C me. do { do; do; do; }
Really? who created UNIX and "C".

C ? Really ? How many posts are you going to make about AT&T being a leader because of C? Your own post says it was created in the 70's. umm 50 years ago, What have they led at in the last 10-12 years?
Re: Post ID: @1lqr+1ck0OwW3
If an employer causes harm to an employee the employees recourse would be to sue for “damages.”
That is why when an employee signs up to give their shot status you must agree to the disclaimer they are providing the information voluntarily. By doing so the employee has just damaged their case against ATT should any harm come related to the shot.
Not Russian just wiser and not a Corp lemming.
"OSHA upheld their original ruling from April the other week "If an employer requires its employees to be vaccinated, adverse reactions to the vaccines are considered “work-related” by OSHA".
"April the other week"
Who says "the other week" in the USA? More Russian's
"Remind our employer of their legal liability for harm we might suffer if you are damaged because they forced you to undergo an experimental medical procedure as a condition of employment. "
" if you are damaged"
Hmm, I'm guessing your not from around here? Russia maybe? You damage a car or an object!
Problem is your aren't forced at this point. They have not threatened any disciplinary action or singled anyone out yet. They could easily just get the 90% compliance then just back off and declare victory. My guess is they just start putting out extensions or exemptions where people hold out when the deadline comes. No point in fighting over the few percent.

Here's more reading if you have any interest.

How is the World Powered by C?
Microsoft’s Windows kernel is developed mostly in C
Linux is also written mostly in C
Mac computers are also powered by C
iOS, Android and Windows Phone kernels are also written in C
What astounds me is that AT&T has never pointed this out.

I don't expect most of you to know so here's a little material to read.

I also don't expect you to know that this Operating system and programing language are in part responsible for building the internet!
"C
The single most influential programming language today might be C. Invented at Bell Labs in the '70s, it was one of the first high-level programming languages to have an operating system written in it. And that operating system just happens to be Unix. Because it was written in C, it was possible to move Unix to different platforms."
Apple captured this and is the basis for their operating system and use it to out perform Microsoft.
I realize that most on this site are not familiar with the history of the internet and why you can freely post on social media, but it is because AT&T was there in it's creation!
Now you may not respect the BOD or C suite. BUT please remember the employees that put in their efforts!

It’s not a forced layoff. A layoff implies severance pay. The HR policy says it is COBC violation, that means Fired, not laid off. No severance. Read the HR FAQs at the link in the email.
Forced layoff... hyperbole much? Stop making things up cuz you won't get the vaccine. Nobody is falling for it.
This is nothing more than a “forced layoff”. Who ever thinks otherwise is delusional.. And yes T is that shady and Fuuuuuuuuked up to pull something like this..
And for those that say is was the right decision. Would you ok with ….
1) if you where a female and you became pregnant, but your pregnancy didn't align with the “ needs” of the business, would you be ok with T pushing ab-----n?
2) T comes out and says everyone needs to practice ( X ) religion to apease the general public.
T needs to stick to what is does, and thats cell phones and internet… Plus why on gods green earth would anyone listen to the same board that made the DTV/Warner purchase about medical advice? Why?????
do you think they will close COR store locations soon ?
The world needs un-vaxxed ditch diggers, too.
Dallas has no children ICU beds yet big man Stankey allows his leaders to force people with kids to come to the office when they could work from home. They were weeks slow to react in 2020 and weeks slow now.
" Requiring the vaccine is the right thing to do. "
Requiring a vaccine that has been properly tested, vetted and actually prevents you from getting the disease is the right thing to do. Not the stupidity we currently have that only serves to make mountains of money for the folks experimenting on everyone.
Forcing a vaccine that doesn't prevent the disease is only going to turn everyone who is vaccinated into a potential mutation farm.
Wait till the vaccinated figure out that without a booster shot every six months, they'll be considered un-vaccinated too.
Plenty of jobs out there that does not require the vaccine.
They’ll wait until they fire the non-conformers and then extend the return to work date.
“Requiring the vaccine is the right thing to do.“
OP here. You can debate that in 42 posts below. I happen to agree. Not the point of my post at all. I am simply pointing out that you’ll be hearing from senior leadership soon that they want most management working from home until Jan. You can bank on it.
Covid isn't going away any time soon and some people do eventually need to go back to an office. Requiring the vaccine is the right thing to do.
