Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Whom would you recommend to work at HW?

I made a huge mistake and I would not recommend anyone to work here. In particular, I would not recommend HW to anyone for their early work experiences, because here they can very easily get an aversion to both work and their job. It is impossible to express in words how much this company squeezes people.

I would recommend a job at Honeywell for anyone with an advanced Terminal Illness. Each day seems to last forever, making the most of whatever time is left.

@3aek+1ckGtivO - The CEO could take care of this, but he is too far stuck up into WS to care for 1 second what goes on below him. Just "show me the money" then work a little on a failing software plan, then get forced out or retire with a big package.

You are not alone folks....senior leaders at aero were asked if theyd recommend a family member or friend and 97% said they wouldn't. This is not made up. Leaders are not happy or proud of HW clearly. I used to like HW, but that all changed with the intro of MM back 5 or 6 yrs ago. This guy is as pompous as they come and he has surrounded himself with folks that are not allowed to think on their own.

I do not recommend this place to folks other than as a stepping stone.

I would not recommend myself to work at HW if there is an option out there.

Speaking as a non-US employee, HON is great for someone with little to no prior exposure with big corporate. I spent 5 yrs and left as band 4 for a director role elsewhere. I wouldn’t have got the job without HON experience. Hard five years indeed - loads of overtime, internal politics, etc. On balance, it was worth it but I’m glad to be gone.

I would recommend a person who has following traits.

  1. Addicted to overtime. Cheat and lie to get more.
  2. Someone who lazy.
  3. Don’t have to show up to work. They never get into trouble.
  4. Don’t ever have to follow process. You know you will never get in trouble. So you can cut corners. In order to produce more parts faster.
  5. Someone who has angry management issue. You next supervisor or group leader.
  6. Psychopath.
  7. Narcissist.
  8. Psychotic.
  9. Bullies.
  10. Future presidents. I am not a crook.
  11. People who aren’t qualified for jobs. Just learn as you go, You don’t need degrees anymore.
  12. Students who just graduated from college. Doesn’t make a difference what grade point average you have. Even if you got an F. There’s still hope it’s Honeywell.
  13. Design automation equipment. Which doesn’t work. Honeywell has plenty of money to waste. You will get another job by lying. Companies can’t check on what you built so basically they’re hiring unqualified people.
  14. Employees who have alcohol, dr-g problems, and gambling problems.
  15. People who will push parts. Treat anyone anywhere they want in order to get those parts. Most the time never getting in trouble.
  16. Slaves who have no minds. So you make them do anything you want, and by doing so quality has gone down the toilet.
  17. No ethical people allowed.
  18. No fair hiring system.
  19. People who will not follow state or federal laws.
  20. Potential criminals.

The list goes on. You wonder why it’s a toxic environment at Honeywell.

Instead of Forrest Gump. Run Forrest Gump and don’t look back. I state my fellow employees should do the same. Unless you’re on this list, then stay.

Someone 60 years old and wants a free relocation to Arizona.

A C student that has no desire to get a graduate level degree.

Someone that has lots of support (family/friends) in the location and not specialized so much that they can only work for Honeywell there.

Totally agree! Avoid at all cost. It’s not worth your family, mental health, abuse, etc. They destroy families and the employee.

No need to recommend friends, acquaintances or alumni to HON.

HON’s stellar reputation along with its crack HR team, the best outsourcing available will draw them in like moths to a flame.

Early career engineers do fine here. Just leave after two years. I don't recommend staying at any company longer than that given the lack of financial incentive. You must jump to be promoted in any company today.
