I just don’t understand what the rush is? We’ve done it for a year and a half and have been fine! Why not at least wait till the end of the year when flu season is over and then have us return? Instead they are throwing us all back into those old buildings with poor ventilation.

I stumbled upon the RTO communications Sharepoint and they have templates ready for postponing/rescheduling RTO. Interested to see if/when they get sent out.
Due to previous liberal WFH policies and staff reductions, the Bank currently holds millions of square feet of unused commercial office space in key hubs around the country. This includes CLT, RVA, RTX, NYC, and numerous other cities. They can't lease, sub-lease or sell this space, because no one else wants it right now. Covid just exasperated an already shaky commercial RE market. The Bank realizes their WFH numbers are out of control. In the interim, they must fill some of this empty office space to justify their ongoing operating expenses, and at the same time, hopefully cut unneeded WFH staff.
So the plan is :
a) order associates back to the office in hub cities.
b) if associates refuse to work in a hub city - they are terminated.
c) if associates refuse a vaccine to work in a hub city - they are terminated.
People will not relocate on their own dime for a position offering no guarantee/ security. It's been proven to be highly effective strategy to reduce staff over the last 10 years. So you can complain about RTO, but this is the reality.
Are the unvaccinated returning in October or will that get pushed out again?
@1mnl+1clRbGFE I’m not sure where you have been this whole time but it has definitely not been a vacation and we have continued to work… from home. Troll
This is either an ego thing or power play. The decision to RTO with rising cases and deaths is a reputational risk at this point. Without question the most unsafe and risky move the bank has ever done in the past 10 years that I know of.
@ent+1clRbGFE that's how some have been wfh all this time.
BM wants you guys to return to work. Playtime and vacation is over.
I’ve heard the unvaccinated will be pushed back from October but the vaccinated will still be brought back as scheduled. If you don’t want to return don’t upload your card.
It’s beyond mo--nic that we haven’t pushed back our dates. Every day more and more companies have realized the increased level of risk being placed on the employees if they return now when we haven’t even reached a peak yet with the number of cases. Couple that with kids returning to school, and the unvaccinated ones being hospitalized at a higher rate than any other point in this pandemic, and it all sounds super precarious and downright dangerous. Furthermore, while I’m vaccinated I will not upload my card onto the system. While I’ve heard two manager already said that just because you upload your card doesn’t mean you’ll be called in, it is clearly a misdirection/lie since everyone I know who has uploaded their cards have been called in. It’s pretty shameful that they don’t follow the trends, and push back the return to office. If the numbers were falling, if their revenue was lower, if there was some sort of real technology security danger then maybe they would have something to bolster their case. As it stands, all they have to say is that being in person leads to more collaboration and big ideas generation which is total boloney, a nytimes study even showed that this water-cooler story they’re pushing on us is a totally myth. Anyway, I hope they know how upset, anxious and disgruntled they will make the vast majority of their workforce if they don’t change their tune.
I wonder if the higher execs know just how bad, old, dirty the buildings we work in are. Here in FL the once light brown carpet is a dark grey. Their are reg sewer issues and the smell is overwhelming at times. No place to eat food in the building and many times the bathrooms would be flooded and we would have to walk 10 mins to the bathroom in the main building. The ventilation is terrible. NASTY and if they do know these are the working conditions shame on them!!
Is it certain departments being called first?
Try working in a basement with very poor ventilation and no windows. They don’t care!
Silly cogs. Don't you understand that coming to the office important? We need to see Kathy's new shoes.
I did not upload my vax card and I have not been contacted to return, so I think it’s vaccinated people only.
Just vaccinated people so far are to come back 9/9. I’m thinking if you uploaded your vaccination card online that triggers the email to come back.
Vaccinated 9/9/2021. Unaccounted by 10/9/2021 per HR rep I spoke with....still angry about it
Is it just vaccinated people being told to return or non-vaccinated as well?
