Frank/HR warming up to WFH?

My manager paraphrased an internal memo in a discussion I had with him and from the sounds of it, Frank/HR might be changing their minds when it comes to WFH. It sounds like it may end up being a "come in a few times a month" sort of a thing.. but with the haphazard and scatterbrained way in which things change around here, who really knows.

There is no way they will be able to fit everyone back into Alpharetta….it was over capacity prior to merger. If they stuff everyone back, it’ll be one huge daily superspreader event. I dont care if they are testing for covid weekly…you can have a false negative or you can contract and spread it in between tests. They cant be that irresponsible.

For a Fortune 200 company you seem to have difficulty keeping headcount. Maybe there is a rason you can't keep anyone. Oh that is right, you can make more at a better company and you don't have to work 80 hours a week picking up 3 peoples job.

Official back to the office for everyone vaccinated is September 14. Your boss needs to wise up, this soft return approach is a Trojan horse. HR is saying there will be flexibility to see who returns full time and who doesn't. Those that don't return full time will be put on a list and monitored closely. I was told today by my SVP this is the time to start looking at low performers for future reductions. All open postings are being pulled and we have to do more with less.

We have more people who work from home than most Fortune 500 companies have employees when you take into account sales, contact center and others who love where a site was closed. About 8,000 today.

So this debate on work from home is bogus.
