Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

I don't underseand people who want to get cut?

I would be ashamed to even admit it because there are a lot of people who are afraid of getting laid off and they care about keeping the job that pays their bills.

It is understandable to me that it is difficult for most to bear the situation here because it is getting more miserable every day, but is it so hard to find another job now? I got 2 great offers in a month.

I’ve spent ten years asking for a severance, pretty much given up on it…if I want to walk I have to take the initiative. RTO will do it

When you have put in many YEARS with the company and you're severance package is many MONTHS of pay, you want get laid off vs quitting or retiring. That the bank is using the RTO ploy to avoid paying severance is reprehensible.

You're an outlier and not the norm.

I've been applying and interviewing for months. 50-60 applications, 12 interviews, final candidate for two but no solid offers yet. My wife has been applying for 6 months with 6 interviews, and no offers yet.

Well have you been reading the news of the great resignation.. People quitting jobs in masses or wanting to get laid off. Many have changed their location or other life circumstances and they were trying to get a new job anyway.

Well... if you are 62, getting cut is a dream come true. People who are of retirement age volunteer for the cut so that someone younger that cannot retire yet gets to keep their job.

Its an honor to get cut sometimes.
