Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What does it take for some people to quit?

I've seen employees mistreated so badly and they keep putting up with it. No amount of poor working conditions, unrealistic expectations, horrible treatment by managers, and whatever else is enough to get them to walk away. Verizon does not pay enough to go through all of that and there are plenty of available jobs right now, so what's going on?

Yeah, what department are you in? Alot of us are sitting in the same position for 25-30 years without even as much as a chance of a lateral transfer into a new position with something different to do, hence, the reason for high levels of absence and disability. A job should not cause anxiety on a Sunday when thinking about logging in on a Monday, furthermore, a job should not cause such high stress that it could ki-l you. Even though working from home takes you away physically from the office drama it does not take the sting out of the job itself. Employee's with 25-30 years of service have done due diligence for Verizon and should not be in the same jobs they entered into the company on...it's called burn out...but let them keep paying the disability, we'll take it and thanks.

Why quit when there's disability?? Since they wanna play around with not offering us an SEIPP, pile more jobs onto the CSSC rep, create employee anxiety, create a hostile workplace, discriminate, send us back into the offices and the garages when Covid is now surging, it's disability and workplace accommodations all the way. Eventually they'll "get it" when they get tired of paying disability. Verizon, we won't allow you to ki-l us.

They pay enough to not looks elsewhere for me. The cr---y mistreatment you know is better than the unknown cr-p of a new job with lower pay.

The college educated didn't sign up for weekend tours. That is why they pay us so much, so we don't have to work weekends. Duh...

Put everyone on weekend tours, and watch the 35 year old Znowflakes call it a day before you can say "pensioner"

@qmq+1cnAV4y4 Point proven about racism.

Don’t forget the elderly guys who think the office is a bar to pick up younger women.

Indians are used to slavery. They were slaves of the British. They are now doing what they learnt so well from their masters

I think most people don’t hate the job; they hate the politics. Look at how hard these people are fighting to stay home, why is that? I’ve read how it’s the gossip, the racism, and the dirtiness of these offices. Can you really blame them? The whole point, people who like the job outnumber the people who don’t. It’s just they don’t want to be subjected to the low class cr-p they’ve been dealing with for years.

The only way union people quit is if you give them a huge handout because their next job will be at Walmart.
