Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

HR is about to get more notices

1 job psg 24+ in PDC and its a job they cannot fill in San Ramon. All career ladder jobs downgraded. Zero opportunity for growth and no budgets to promote.

3 people currently being manage moved to psg 24+ jobs (all PSG 24s and 25s) that are not posted. Middle fingers up to us all.

There should never be an overseas HR position to begin with.

I’d take a bump to 21-24 in San Ramon and be happy

We don’t need 24’s for HR in this day and age.

@1spc You have a good point. I don't even know who is an HR employee or a consultant anymore. Very discouraging that they would spend money for external consultants rather than promote deserving people in the function. I did not know about the managed moves that the OP talks about. I am not surprised at all to hear this. I have so many friends in the function who are actively looking (including myself) because of this kind of bs.

@1zjx Botox not required before PSG 24+ but you will def need to be a beach.

Do you need to Botox to make psg 25+ or you need it once you are there?

I am one of those PSG 24+ people in HR. I actually need the undeserved obscene amounts of money I am making in order to afford my botox habit and support my house husband.

HR management is a joke. They are specifically keeping people down that compete with them. Lots of 22-23s that could step into 26 level roles. Experience doesn't matter anymore because they are going to hire consultants to do their job anyway.

HR is a microcosm for the company as a whole. Your advancement opportunities can only shrink in a shrinking industry. The Transformation sought to minimize anyone but high pots from advancing (right, IT?). Forget about any foreign assignments (as has been the case for six years now). Unless you sell your soul to the green transition, what you're doing today is what, if you're lucky, you'll be doing ten years from now.

No HR job deserves higher than a 24 paycheck.
