I've been with Cisco for a little over 16 years. Most of those years were good, so no hard feelings from me if I'm affected. My severance will be high enough to get me through a job searching period and maybe even a two-month break if I'm lucky. Since I accepted all this, I've stopped stressing and have been enjoying my work much more. Life is what you make of it, I guess.

All good things will come to an end. Having a positive attitude will lessen the blow.
Congrats on reaching the final stage of grief - "acceptance".
Alas, if you don't get laid off now you can look forward to repeating the seven steps again during the holidays.
Just remember Fran has constructive empathy for you.
