Currently I am a manager in retail COR. I have been with the T for a while and albeit I hate it, I have stayed for the same reason a lot of people have. Decent money, vacation, perks,…etc.
I interviewed this week and if offered a job with this new company, I will be leaving. It is a small pay cut, but much better quality of life. I don’t have a college degree so it can be challenging at times to find pay that gets close to what I make.
We have a relatively new DOS and she, like most of them, is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. She has been trying to prove herself and thinks that leading by fear works. Her expectations are absolutely outlandish. She said any manager that is not 120% should be looking for another job. Now with the fiber upgrades, we have become door to door sales people. I am not afraid of hard work, but this is a little much.
If you’re experiencing anything similar, get out now. There has never been a better time for a career change. Companies are hiring like crazy. Take the slight pay cut if you need to for a better quality of life if you need to.
On a side note:
Does anyone think it’s only a matter of time before the AR companies end up buying the battleship and flagship stores as well?
