Today's supposed to be the big layoff day isn't it?

Today is supposed to be the next big layoff. What's the word?

Attrition is way too high. BU eng is hemorrhaging talent.

Woo hoo, no layoff though….

LR to be announced this coming Tuesday. Next year's guidance was not good.

Right now it's only 3:15pm EST, wait till announcement time at 4:30pm. The news is on the way, very bad indeed. But that's normal for Cisco.

Last year we heard similar rumors as high as 12K + being laid off. The anonymous commenters were very certain about it, yet it never came to pass. I suspect this cycle will be the same.

Hmmm. I seem to recall Cisco offering people to work a reduced work week at a reduced pay, offered early retirement to some, and told a significant percentage of workers they were "at risk" and offered them a voluntary separation package followed by a Dec LR of the remaining "at risk" workers who didn't take the package or find new roles at Cisco.

I don't consider that "never coming to pass". Time will tell.

I have repeatedly said there is no big layoff planned. Cisco is doing well (financially). So, other than earning beat by penny or two, cautious guidance for revenue due to 'uncertainty' (now because of Delta, next quarter there will be different reason), after market stock will drop and tomorrow Cisco recover, opening within 1% of today's close. That is what happens every time. This time is no exception. No layoff announcement.
