Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

We used to have 25 reps. Now we have 6

It’s amazing how much retail has changed in the last few years. Now, if we have someone call in sick we are screwed. Most days we have 4 reps on the floor, and our queues grow to one hour or more on the regular. Considering our pay is team based and gets adjusted based off customer experience it seems we are set up to fail. Verizon has fallen so far

200k with stock and bonus counted is pretty accurate only for the bay area. It would be 175ish in BR. 85 is much lower than most wireless employees. I think you guys have been sold a line if cr-p. I don't hate the union or have any dog in the old wireless wireline fight.

There are store in my area that used to have 15 but now have 3 reps with 4 openings. It's the new way. I doubt we ever see staffing like we ever used to. They are going a lean model like most all places are. The new normal.

103k with minimal OT. Double that? Yeah right. Your geeky, made-up “software engineer” job will be given to an H1B soon anyway, if it existed. Oh, enjoy that student debt as well. You will be back at your barista job in no time.

Yep tell that to the customer when they go to a retail store complaining about how their home install isn’t working. Rep: do you have your techs name? Customer: no but he was a short stocky bald headed guy. Seemed to have a napoleon complex...
Rep: oh yea that’s Ted. I went to school with him.. He drives a truck bigger than his house but was always shy of the locker room after gym class.

Who goes into stores?
Are there people without internet?
The loss of people makes sense, unfortunately. They don’t really want to operate brick and mortar holes. They never did, so all eyes on how to do without them ASAP.

One Verion it has been that way for many years. They took wireless off stores a while ago it is just Verizon.

Here's a novel idea. Put your post where it belongs:

Note the word WIRELESS

Its not just Verizon, it's all of corporate America. Retail is finished. Brick and mortar is finished. Housing is going to collapse, and then the economy. Wild times are ahead.
