Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

This is getting tiring

No job is secure, but what is happening at BNYM is very tiring. Constant pressure on employees with layoffs also means constant work in fear and uncertainty. How can anyone be relaxed and give their best in such an atmosphere? This should be seen as a real expenditure - declining productivity due to demoralizing and demotivating employees. I can't take this stress anymore. Health is invaluable.

I’m glad I’m not the only one in East Syracuse who got the axe and thinks the managers are a joke. The one that fired me isn’t in her role anymore but she is one miserable human. Can’t work with humans? Put them on projects

East Syracuse was a joke. Managers that should not be managers . Some just keep rising up in the company somehow.

I was based out of East Syracuse too and got axed in January. I know some operations groups had on-site managers but all of IT seemed to be managed out of NYC, Pitts and few from Oriskany.

Got laid off in Jan. East Syracuse location is the worst run place ever. Terrible managers from the top down.

Problem is, the organization considers their employees an expense.

I agree . Short staffing is so bad right now . Reqs have been taken so you can’t fill them and we’re doing so much more and barely meeting deadlines. Nobody takes that into consideration and continues to breath down your neck. Then they want you working weekends too as if you don’t have a life outside of this place
