Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Not meant to be Kool-aid

I'm disappointed in the new JD leadership and am very disgusted. However, I watched the HBOMAX show on Kobe and it made me think. Nike can pay, treat and disregard employees, but if Nike went back to the campaign around all athletes regardless of race, creed, religion, s-x or orientation and made a resounding STATEMENT; I can get behind that. Make us proud again! Focus on the future athletes of all ages. Let's set the example for the world. Invest in innovation, technology and future athletes. There's a reason why you see the Swoosh everywhere, in every arena, every backyard court and on anyone that enjoys any form of sport. I think we've lost that since JD took control. (Sh-t, I'm saying it's ok to treat me like sh-t.) Someone help me out here on what I'm trying to say (the margaritas are not helping). Nike really doesn't do the right thing by anyone. Let's focus on what Nike was built upon and why. Phil, Bowerman and Pre. I love MP and he loves Nike, but he was a puppet to the sound bites, but all he really wanted to do was design sneakers. JD? Money and greed. He doesn't give a sh-t about anyone but himself. Let's be real and not stupid. As for us Nike employees and fans of the Swoosh, we out number the ELT. We rise together!

Phil was still around to kick Perez out and prevent him from completely destroying his company. Those days are long gone and there's really nobody left that cares enough to stop JD. Maybe stockholders will when him (and the others) break Nike bad enough that the stock price tanks. Anyone who's staying on at this point... well they aren't doing themselves any favors.

“This is the first time Nike isnt being run by long time insiders.”

I think you’re forgetting Perez. You’d think Nike would have learned more from that.

It wasn’t that great to begin with. Nike was (and maybe still is?) a company of “haves” and “have nots” I experienced both, had enough and I left! Look to the future not the past.

This is the first time Nike isnt being run by long time insiders. Let's face it, Nike has been captured by Wall Street and plans to run the playbook on squeezing as much profit out of the company as possible. It started with layoffs and outsourcing, with JD telling us we asked for it.
I dont expect Nike culture to ever come back.
