Since Pfizer has been approved by the FDA, does this now mean that the company could he held liable if an employee is damaged by taking the vaccine because the company forced them to take it?

OSHA determined is is a work related issue if company mandated and employee suffers and side effects, fatality etc
@3fun+1ctcbJRU Not true. You could have a medical or other legitimate reason not to take the shot and qualify for unemployment. Perhaps the company was not able to give exemption due to accommodation causing undue hardship. If you don't know State law, you should probably not give advice.
No, you cannot collect unemployment if you are fired for non compliance of company policies. Google it - “mandatory vaccine unemployment” Usually unemployment benefits apply only if you lose your job through no fault of your own.
You would need to get a doctor to chart your condition as having been caused from the covid shot. No doctor is going to chart this and then have to defend it. If a doctor is not going to state your adverse reaction is from the covid shot then how can AT&T be liable. Dr. just needs to follow standard of care and CDC recommendations.
Keep whining and see if that works out for you.
I’d you are an AT&T employee then you ARE being compelled to take the vaccine. Calling it anything else is semantics.
Can you collect unemployment if you get fired for refusing the vaccine?
Sure, decline to state and let us know how it works out for you.
You chose to work at T, you accepted all its conditions. They aren't going to be liable for you.

- What if the employee declines to state their vaccination status?
A: Under the ETS, an employer is not obligated to require employees to submit proof of being fully vaccinated. Absent such a requirement, an employee has the right to decline to state if they are vaccinated or not. In that case, the employer must treat the employee as unvaccinated and must not take disciplinary or discriminatory action against the employee.
if you read the approval they approved something else with a different name than the current vaccine. don't know when they start distributing or manufacturing what they approved.

Someone said read OSHAs rules, OSHA is encouraging employers to get their employees vaccinated. This is from the osha.gov website:
“ OSHA suggests that employers consider adopting policies that require workers to get vaccinated or to undergo regular COVID-19 testing – in addition to mask wearing and physical distancing – if they remain unvaccinated.”
If anything, the company is less liable since it is approved.
Just watched an episode on msnbc this morning about these cases. The sentiment was that companies are legally more exposed by NOT requiring the vaccine. So if that is the case, I am sure more companies will move in this direction.
Your logic is backwards.
If a vaccine is approved, it's approved.
"damaged by the vaccine"
Having trouble with your English? I've heard a few Russians use that verbiage!
"if an employee is damaged by taking the vaccine"
So much worry over something that is not going to happen. You are not going to be damaged by the vaccine. How many people have been damaged by the vaccine vs. how many unvaccinated people have been damaged by the virus?
Please people, come to your senses! Many hospitals are full. Some have ordered refrigerator trucks to be used as temporary morgues. They will be filled with UNvaccinated people!
Yes, the company is liable. They will fairly compensate you if anything goes wrong after getting vaccinate.
Oh yes, PLEASE call HR and Legal and ask this question. Then, bye-bye, LOL
No. But call HR or the Legal Department and pose this ridiculous question to them.
I doubt they would be liable, technically you have a choice, the choice does suck and not much of a choice either get the shot or find another job that doesn’t require it but no less you have a choice to get it or not.
No. The taxpayers would be if you won your lawsuit. FDA approved it.
Of course you would be jobless also.
@ksi+1ctcbJRU You want us to trust the same board members who bought DTV/Warner and then sold them, all while loosing BILLIONS with medical advise? Lol yeah OKKKKKKKKKK..
I'm holding out for Covid XP.
Don't worry about it. They company will take care of you.
@jcz+1ctcbJRU If you are so convinced about the effectiveness of the vaccine you took, you should careless who doesn't take it. You are protected right? You are immune right? You will live right? Its all about “trust the science trust the vaccine “ then trust it and keep you mouth quiet about who doesn't take it.
Get the vaccine, you sound ridiculous!
liable? LMAO
For all those that are saying no, you might want to read up on oshas ruling regarding this.. Any adverse reactions are to be considered work related injuries and the company is liable.
no
Since when does AT&T care about losing money?
again…you are not being forced to take a vaccine. AT&T has made it a condition of employment. Your choice.
ATT is as liable for a bad vax reaction as it is for the $200B in wasted shareholder money and overcompensated C-suite.
Nice thought, but pretty tough to do in a politicized justice system. As an ATT employee, you have no rights unless you fall into one of the narrow woke protected classes.
