Now that a lot of non-management people who are working from home have been extended the benefit for another year, what are those of you still having to go into the office thinking? And what has been the excuse by your upper-management for the reason you are not able/allowed to work from home? I think anyone who works in an office should be able to do their job at home and I find it strange that the union is only advocating for some people but leaving others behind, and that some management has put more emphasis on the work/customer data than on the actual human being during this time.

I’m in the office - never went home- I’m ok with being in the office since I’m by myself on my floor and very few people are in the building - I deal with equipment in the office so I can’t do the job from home - but I’m ok with it - I’m non-management bargained employee .
i know of one group thats in our city that never went home... lot of them got sick last year with covid.. the reason they couldnt go home was because they pull up customers credit card info on thier screens so that was a no no from home
It’s kind of hard to work on a server in a DC from home. What you don’t know is a lot. Mind your own business and you might avoid showing everyone just how ignorant you are.
We are in the office because of customer data we have access to. The same access and data management has/sees. Yet they ran out of the office early last year when the company told everyone to go home. Our management told us we had to stay put. So it was basically like “see ya! Good luck in the pandemic, we out!”. Meanwhile people in banking, mortgage companies, fraud departments, credit card companies are working from home.
In my out of region location, our management doesn't allow their occupational personnel to work from home, yet that's all they do. You rarey see your supervisor in the office...go figure!
I worry more about my business than others and it is much less stressful.
I plan to go in and do as little work as possible.
Only difference - At Home:
I caught up on cartoons
I had much more sanitary toilet breaks
Softer more absorbent toilet paper
Soap that dispensed instead of air from the soap ejector
Real towel, didn't have to dry my hands on my shirt
Non turddy smelling bathroom
Laundry, dishes, cleaning done daily instead of on weekends
Non monitored personal phone calls
Alcohol with my lunch
Much better working environment
I could be finished within 2 hours instead of 9 at work location
- Just too many reasons to work from home..............
