Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

From the Other Security Side

I did leave earlier this year to a security competitor. Let’s just say today was a great day for our stock. We didn’t go up just 1 percent, we went up by double digits. Kind of like your and our earnings announcements, were you grew 1% and we grew significant double digits.

Part of the strategy I am hearing from our sales and engineering leaders as I get more engrained is literally leveraging your strategy and your processes against you.

We actually have real sales executives that have been in seat before and know how to run a global business. They don’t focus about themselves and how they are VPs and their rise to the top and regurgitate words they don’t know, instead they talk about the substance to their strategy, and educate us cause they know the cyber security industry and take it seriously. They are literally enabling us in ways to be security trusted advisors.

The whole Agile TSA and Click2Expert that is going on at Cisco and Cisco Security is awesome for us here. Please keep it up. We have an executive here that came from Cisco, and told us calls that GSSO Engineering is committed to Agile TSA and Click2Expert and it is awful in other areas of Cisco business. They had a former Cisco Security EA customer that joined our call and said that Cisco’s new approach and being very transactional from a resource perspective is not what they want in a strategic partner. To hear that from a customer was powerful.

Simply put, we are building and owning the technical relationships. I was long time Cisco and we won so much on business and technical relationships and to see Cisco now losing cause of this Agile TSA and Click2Expert strategy is just embarrassing.

I'm eating PAN's lunch at almost all of my accounts. PAN is a 1 trick pony and doesn't have anywhere near the footprint or security portfolio that we have. If you're a pan stock holder it is sell, sell, sell. We have significantly more customer relationships and at a higher level than PAN will ever, ever have. Did you hear the White House Security conference today? The message is for the top 50 infrastrucre vendors is to integrate security - that means us. PAN and other niche players will be out of business in a matter of 5 years. If Microsoft secures the endpoint, and they will, then the rest of the niche cyber companies are SOL.

We have our issues here at PAN too but we are growing and expanding and hiring. No place is perfect but Cisco Security is really off track. Numbers don’t lie. Even our competitors are growing by double digits too. Something is wrong with this picture at Cisco Security to not be growing.

@1fai, thanks, but no thanks. Not really anonymous, they ask for a corporate e-mail on sign up.

If you are so happy with your new role you wouldn't still be combing the Cisco Layoff boards. Saddest post I've seen on here.

Hey OP can you post your userid? If only we were just half as good as you are, maybe we'd get a shot at interviewing with your new employer. With your sponsorship though, a few of us might get the chance (the privilege I should say) to talk to a recruiting bot. That itself would be a huge victory for us losers.
