Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

How much trouble are you having hiring?

Especially people who have any experience and know what they're doing? It seems to be impossible to find somebody like that lately. I'm getting really tired of training people who up and leave within a few weeks (or months if we're lucky.) Why even apply if your plan is to walk away so soon?

@iebz, I hope you won't mind me pulling this post into a new thread. It very nicely sums up what is going on here.

Because no one wants to do four or five positions at once, used to be associates in each area. Now one person covers half the club and when they call in, you’re not just missing the one person you’re missing them plus however many areas they covered. It’s exploitive and they don’t pay enough to deal with that much work load, a-ho-e members and power trip managers. Also they’re not being honest in the interviews when they bring people on. Say it’s cashiering and next thing you know you’re helping in bakery decorate cakes, which someone else gets paid more to do btw. With other places raising their wages it’s a no brainer why they would leave. Meanwhile they’re burning out their long term associates but hey, least you’re getting new shoes!

Most of the ones we hire quit after 2or 3 day of the stupid CBL they have to do. Or they quit because they have to actually work for a paycheck.

This isn't a paycheck you can count on. Some weeks I got thirty two hours, other weeks it was below twenty hours. Part time as a cashier blows. Come in for four hours, come in for five hours and forty five minutes. Wtf. Never two days off in a row. You can keep your worthless part time job.

I just left my club as a team lead cause it got so bad. Literally 1 cashier to run the night shift most nights because of so many call offs everyday. 1 cart attendant. My manager hired 5 college students for carts and they all were gone in 2 weeks. It got way too stressful.

Endless revolving door… makes you wish you had PTC back to handle it. Rip.

11 an hour??? If that is all you're making then you must be member support. That is the only dept with out a raise. Sorry but $15 hr for door greeter is a bit much. When other associates who literally bust their butts and have a lot more tasks or expectations that they will get coached over only got the 15 so Sam's could look better for another year and stave off unions and the democrats. And those who were there for years didn't get a bump in pay to keep the wage gap open. You make the same as brand new associates who won't stay past training. Heck, some don't come back for or after orientation.

It's bad at our club. In like a month we have lost over 15 people. We hire and they are gone. It's a waste of time hiring, orientating and starting their training to have them just no call no show. 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄 It just happens over and over again. None of them want to work. I mean, it's not even hard yet. They barely stay long enough to train. Then the ones you want to just quit to make it easier on you, won't. They just continue to show up but do absolutely nothing. I know some people are ok with warm bodies (seems to be the norm here) but it just doesn't cut it.

Been here four years and about to leave cause they still won’t bump me up from eleven an hour. They don’t appreciate employees they don’t deserve to have workers.
