EM was never a paragon of justice, but at least it used to treat its employees fairly and reward those who showed initiative and went that extra mile. Now, it seems bent on punishing its oldest and most loyal employees while it rewards those on top for reducing operating costs by getting rid of said employees. Shameful but true.

Well, what you are describing is simply corporate socialism, known by most as capitalism, coming round to eat its own tail. D-mbing down is necessity at this stage.
But EM has always been far more corrupt than that.

Between the yelling senior execs, name calling behind backs, outright nepotism, shady ESG governance with 'shadow groups, questionable environmental policies, and very serious allegations of Uncon reserve bookings, it's amazing we're still functioning as well as we are.
It was always morally and ethically corrupt. We just put blinders on our eyes and justified stupidity when market was good. I have seen intelligent and normal hires who became tremendously stupid and mentally corrupt zombies within few years of being hired in the company.
It is incredible to see every single action by people as nothing but greedy, stupid acts as a norm. Check out RTD employees, team leads, supervisors, managers, previous URC safety leads, commercial advisors to understand what it means to mentally corrupt and destroy an entire generation.
