Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

If u r Intelligent. CISCO not the right place

Frequent LRs demotivates and affects work and everything

Learn and move out

Managers or Directors or VPs using LR as blackmailing tool to make people work and force not ask any questions

Very pathetic environment
There is no innovation in Cisco, just maintaining some acquired work from startups.
This may be one of the reasons why CSCO stock is stuck and not growing beyond 50

Cisco is all about managers and managing these managers. Don't need to do more than that. Wasted a few years but glad I'm out.

20+ years at Cisco before taking the ER. Ended up in a totally different field but utilizing the core concepts of what I used during my time at Cisco. Feel sorry for me if you will but besides the parting cash I am in a better job at higher pay.

Wonder what this post actually says - what you think...see below

  1. If you are at Cisco you are d-mb
  2. May be you are intelligent person trapped in Cisco. Which makes you d-mb because you are trapped willingly. Self inflicting wounds!!
  3. If you are intelligent person, you should move out of Cisco ...but you could not figure it out yourself

Those long-tenured employees, 10 years, 20
years or more, often brag about how long they've been working here wherever they can boast about it, but each time they say it, I just feel so sad about them. Are they thinking they have acquired anything useful that they can use at other companies?

Those people in the whole job market wise, well... That's why they're going to have to cling to stay here.

I don't know about the rest of the World, but you described the site where I am (EU), perfectly.
Childish, boring, not tech, and oh so toxic !
I do understand that there are people with 10 years in the company - there aren't enough employers in the area that would offer them the same benefits and pay, and once you have a family and settle, you're not in the mood to relocate. In addition, they have already established relationships inside company that are supposed to help them in their careers.
They are also bringing in newly grads in droves. Every year they bring in several interns and after internship they offer them a job to join after their final year at the University.
It's been like that for the last few years.
However, I don't think it is good for these young people to stay more than two years here. They don't get enough experience and they will suffer in job interviews for other jobs, in other companies if they stay longer.

I worked at several tech firms, but here is the most boring job, the most childish organization, the least tech company I've ever seen, as a matter of fact.
It's a company for the newly grads or people who don't have enough work experience.
Not good for people with solid work career. Nothing new here to learn/acquire.
As long as those staff being here for over 10 years (unbelievably long! Actually they’re not able to move to another company because they have no skill or only have obsolete skills) are clinging to stay, or unless the company stops hiring the newly grads or young inexperienced people, it’s sinking ship with toxic culture.
It’s true of all theaters worldwide.
