Anyone else tired of BNYM recruiters? Impossible to get a hold of, strong you along for 3-4 interview rounds just to ghost you at the end of it all, no feedback whatsoever on candidacy. It’s amazing how they continue to get away with treating candidates like this.

I am actually a hiring manager and trying to get recruiting to get back to me is nearly impossible. Can't get them to send resumes and then if you finally get a resume its an ordeal trying to get them to schedule an interview. If you then finally want to send an offer you have to badger them daily until they acknowledge your email and just get some form of response from them. Its really horrendous and embarrassing.
had 3 interviews over a course of weeks, told by the hiring manager i had the job. Now the recruiter is ghosting me for two weeks. No response, reply or acknowledgment. This was for a pretty senior VP position too. Puts a bad taste in your mouth for BNY
For Pittsburgh at least, many use BNYM as a first job out of college and leverage that to go somewhere else (for higher pay, more opportunity, and better management). BNYM feels like the Kmart version of our competitors. Projects/programs/processes that seem to work at our competitors are such a sh*t show when tried at BNYM. Of course, I’m obviously not the brightest bulb as it took me twelve years at BNYM to figure this out (and that’s after this oldster got laid off in April).
I want to be nice, whenever I get direct email from BNYM recruiter, I politely ask if they can offer 250k a year, if yes let’s talk else you know the rest …
@2adv+1cxdk2EA mellon hasn’t been around for nearly 2 decades Rip van Winkle
@2adv+1cxdk2EA i'll tell u why
looks like what happened was the hiring manager liked you and keep pushing the recruiter to move you along
thats the only time things move quickly
@ : @3bti+1cxdk2EA - your comment makes no sense ! Why would oh blame the hiring manager when recruiters, yes those folks, aren’t sending resumes, aren’t drawing in talent and aren’t even checking resumes they’re sending . So definitely blame recruiting
Blame the hiring manager not the recruiter. If the manager wants to hire you they'll stay on top of things and ensure you get an offer. If not, you're in the black ho-e with everyone else on the back burner as a "maybe".
I’ve been with Mellon for a few years and recently accepted a new position. The whole process start to finish took a little over a month, constant communication with the recruiter too. Point being process is fine, take the hint next time.
If you're frustrated with the recruiting process, just wait until you're in the job itself. Lengthy delays and outright lack of response are commonplace here.
Consider it a gift from the universe.
No one should work at BNYM.
HR is probably too busy firing people.
Had an interview about three weeks ago. Application had been sitting in "Under Consideration" status for about six weeks when next thing I receive an interview invitation email. Never contacted by the recruiter at all. So about a week after the actual interview i reached out to the recruiter and was told there was no updates yet from the hiring manager. Now three weeks later the submission status was updated just yesterday to "Interview" and it says "We are reviewing the feedback from the interview process". At this point it makes me wonder if they'll even actually call if there's an offer.
Just like the leadership, they don’t care.
