Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

No luck reapplying

I left a few years ago mainly because my manager was a micromanaging bully who only knew how to use yelling and threats as management tools. I found a new job and it's fair to say when I left, I did not hold back my opinion about him. I'm still at the job I left for but I've tried to reapply at HON since (I left for lower pay just to get away) and my applications were completely ignored every time. Is it possible I've been blacklisted? Could he have flagged me as problematic, or something like that?

There's a chance your resume isn't optimized for their text filter. There's also a chance you don't have the right "keywords" in your application coversheet.
Of course, it's much more likely that the "crack" HON HR-weenies don't know what keywords to associate to the job you're applying for either.

The only way to get back in is if you know a leader on the inside. Also if you were a B4 and left, you can never come back as a B4. Even if you retire. It's an unwritten rule that is strictly enforced.

They would rather hire one of the cleaning guys that wipes down door knobs or the cashier from the cafeteria. They even hired one of the people that did the temperature checking at one point.

Simple HW HR Rules -

If employee left voluntarily - not eligible for rehire
If employee RIFed/Layed-off - Eligible for rehire

Why on earth would you want to go back? Pay isn't everything. Health and self-respect are more important than that. Be glad to have escaped and move forward.

Honeywell systematically and illegally filters qualified candidates based on age and race. All I have to do is look at the resumes I receive versus the local demographics.
Would love to see a 60 minutes investigation.
Flagrant and reckless violation across honeywell.

Most people I know who have tried to apply or reapply for Honeywell jobs hear nothing back. And many requisitions by managers don't get replies back either. They just aren't that efficient. It also seems they get direction from corporate as to what type of people and how many to hire. (youth and diversity trump all else right now) Really no communications to the sites. Don't seem to be very helpful to the sites. Likely by now most of the HR folks have be churned - many are contractors and there is a lot of turn over. Seriously doubt HR is that good to keep note on file about you.

Consider yourself lucky to be out of "Honey-he-l" that place is a cesspool of incompetent, morally and ethically challenged Management. It true that if you leave on your own or attempt to leave on your own they blacklist you are at least make you life very difficulty. I'm a former employee from Torrance plant, and I'll never look back to the place.

This place has loved running understaffed, too close to Q3 and gotta make those numbers.

As others have stated, you are better off staying away and look for higher pay elsewhere.

Once the bridge is burned, cannot return.
Burning bridge is not a good idea anyway, as you never know your actions are spread by network, and you never know who will br working at your next company

Imagine your old boss joining your new company as your mgr. Never know

I left three years ago and was an engineering manager. At that point in time when someone left Honeywell there was checkout review the manager did on the exiting employee that included whether they would be considered for a re-hire. I couldn't tell you if it's still part of the process.
So yes, if you left on bad terms it's possible you were flagged as do not rehire.

You bet you are. As long as HR remembers you there will be no response to your applications. Look for something else that pays better. Remember the best time to look for a job is when you have one
