Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

The layoff.com deletes stuff

Is the company pressuring you to remove comments, even though no specific names are being mentioned. This is what has fB in a lot of trouble…taking control of information even though they serve the common good!

Private companies can do whatever the he-l they want. Much like that anti-mask restaurant owner who threw a couple out for wearing masks, Facebook, Twitter, and even the Layoffs site can set up their own rules, as long as they don't discriminate against a protected class. And rightwingism is not a protected class, though it's starting to look like a religion.

If you read the rules, linked at the bottom of very page, you'll see why posts get removed.

No names, easy on the insults, don't spread misinformation, don't get so political that things get out of hand, don't say things that your grandpa used to say about some people who don't look like you.

So, in other words, just be cool.

Youre not too bright are you...

A book today is equal to a book from the 1940's. An e-book today is equivalent to a book from the 1940's. Social media websites are akin to a drunk town crier who is shouting about witches and werewolves as people walk by and ignore them until someone knocks some sense into them.

@mmz+1d1WZZkB i sure hope you aren't responsible for educating anyone. A book is not the same as a website. A comment is not the same as a book. At the very least a comment is the same as gossip and at the most it is the same as the self submitted news story to a newspaper that an editor of the newspaper allows. All books have publishers and the publishers...have editors and editors...guess what...EDIT. Do you understand what editors do?

Someone who oversees a meeting, debate, or discussion is called a moderator.

Online moderators can delete threatening, vulgar, or spam messages, and they also make sure discussions stay on topic.

You'd compare the nonsense on the internet to an actual book? That's like comparing doodles on a postit note to Homer's Iliad. Not sure I'd agree that a moderator deleting nonsense from an anonymous layoff website is anything more than a moderator deleting nonsense - far from nefarious.

@ldv No false equivalence between the two. Books in the 30's are the equivalent of websites of today.

@ldv don't feed the conservatroll. It's just spouting the typical drivel to get any reaction out of everyone else here. If we ignore it, it'll go away.

You're seriously comparing this site with book burning? Does the term 'false equivalence' mean anything too you?

@tvf In addition to removing messages they also remove letters from words making them unreadable. So, what do you call that? Oh, that's right, google analytics needs to keep the electronic gulag clean, otherwise they will be de-platformed and lose ad revenue. So, in reality all it comes down to is money, revenue from google pushing ads on their site. High morals have nothing to do with anything, so yeah, it is the equivalent of book burning session, the technocrats are fas.cists suppressing freedom of speech in all possible ways. I hope you are using VPN b/c they also got your IP and MAC address and know who you are, considering their partnership with google (we all know the high regard google has for individual freedoms). Having that info available or possible available, will they sell it to the company you are working for?

How exactly is fb “in trouble?” Oh, you mean with you and ur Q friends? No one gives a hoot, and when I say “hoot” I’m really saying something much worse. The layoff isn’t deleting anything of value or anything that is posted that sticks to the house rules. Get a life.

It reminds me of book burning sessions way back in the days of the Third Reich. The regime didn't like people to be informed and stay educated, they burned the books of certain dissidents (their version of Terms of Service). This is the modern version of that despicable act. So sad to see humanity sinking this low and lackeys and sycophants cheering on...

@OP needs to shut up and go away if they don't like it. Don't be the pigeon that struts around the chessboard sh-----g all over it before leaving.

Be the good sport who realized you don't belong here and go where you will fit in.
