Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Field reps and rto status

Checked my location on our workplace this morning and I show remote. I’ve been designated as a field rep for years.. Anyone else a field rep that was given a location to go into? I ask since there is a location within 40 miles from me so I had expected an assignment.

I am also a field rep, there are office locations with in 40 miles of my home, but I am still remote. I wonder if it has anything to do with me not being in a go forward\hub city.

Have you seen the January 6 footage?

@2yaf

You'll be fine. They'll tuck you in the basement far away from customers.

Would it be asking too much to request that you appear presentable at the workplace? Weird goaties and abrahamic beards should be reserved for when one needs to blend in, on the middle east.

Long time Field Rep here, in Technology.

They assigned me to a location that's actually a bank branch.

So what's going to happen when I show up? Will the local branch manager have a space for me?

Also, I'm kind of a long-haired and bearded hippy looking guy. I'd give it even odds that they kick me out of the branch and tell me not to come back.

Then what...???

I've been Field Rep for over 12 years and have worked remote that long. Half my team are remote and still show as such, the other half in Charlotte so they'll be in the office. I think my manager will fight tooth and nail to keep us out of the office.

I was a field rep before COVID, now I have an assigned seat in an office less than 40 miles away.

You have it wrong; the rto strategy is pretty much that everyone goes into an office if there’s a location close enough. That doesn’t mean that those were wfh prior get to continue (some may, but that’s clearly not their long term strategy). What’s different between rto and location strategy is if this was location strategy they’d require people to be moving. Right now, they are not as long as there’s an office to go to or if you’re too far away and needed, they’ll let you stay remote for now. Once they actually implement the locations- that will mean consolidation across the footprint and likely layoffs or on your own dime moves.

All (but two) of my team were assigned a location. We were all Field Reps. I doubt my manager will lift a finger.

I'm a field rep and I show remote in our workplace. We had a call today with our department that confirmed we are remaining permanent work from home, but they said this was not the norm for WF and we should try to empathize for the other groups.

I'm a FieldRep and mine still shows remote. My manager is looking into it.

@vev there was literally a notice about MACs changing for field reps with instructions that the MACs are for mail processing only and field reps are NOT to report to those offices.

Normally I'd agree with you, but our whole team is remote (pre-COVID) and we have been assigned offices and our MACs that were tied to our home addresses has been changed to the offices.

Of course field reps are still remote. This is RTO, if you were't in an office before COVID, there is no office for you to "return" to.

Everyone seems to be mixing up RTO and location strategy. RTO is entirely different than Location Strategy, those are two separate things. How many FAQs does the company have to put out explaining all of this?

Field rep here as is everyone on my team. 2/3 of us have an assigned location, 1/3 still saying remote. Those of us assigned are within 40 miles. Those of us who it still says remote are greater than 40 miles away.

Management up 3 still does not know what is going on and are waiting for word from LOB head.

I'm just assuming that we will all have to go in. RTO isn't correct as most of us have never worked in the office in the past.

Why does everyone on this site have no idea what the difference is between RTO and the location strategy?

I have a feeling that it is currently showing as “remote” by default if you are a field rep but your office location hasn’t been assigned yet. That’s my situation as I’ve been told they working on assigning office space to me yet my location is showing as remote today on the platform.

@yvd if that's it, why don't they just say that?

It would go so much farther than this long, nebulous, doublespeak that they keep pumping out.

It appears that folks love to create problems where they do not exist.

If your address in Outlook is showing as field rep and workplace is showing remote, then you will telecommute.

If workplace does not show remote and you were assigned an office location then start planning to go to RTO.

It is that simple.

Now all bets will be off when Saul's location strategy kicks back in, if you are in Tech.

Haven't been threatened with RTO since before the pandemic, where they had been whispering that it would happen, but nothing more.

Still showing as a Field Rep, don't expect it to change.

If it does, I will protest through actions and logically sound arguments. When they start disciplining me, I'll tell them "F__K OFF! I quit" and walk right out the door. Legally they're entitled to two more day of my labor. They'll get it if they point it out. I'm not unreasonable.

Well I was told I had to move to a hub location on my own dime; so if they have me listed as remote I’m not going to “escalate” as I’d rather not move.

Did you want an assignment to an office location? I’ve been a Field Rep for years and they assigned me to an office. Still not going in, but I’ve been assigned.
