No point in trying and certainly no point in giving it your all. We are all seen as replaceable by the management, especially if our pay is on the higher end. There are plenty of people who'd work for significantly less looking for a job right now. My advice is to leave as soon as you can. There's no future here for any of us old-timers.

I will say that you are absolutely correct that once you reach a certain age you are totally and completely disposable like yesterday's newspaper.
I dunno, try to find someone who will get out of bed for less than $30. Much less someone who has the skills and conscientiousness to do as good of job as most of our employees.
