Tuition reimbursement?

I realize this is probably a humorous post at this point, but does anyone know if tuition reimbursement is still a thing? Haven’t been able to get a straight answer, and this was basically the only perk I was hanging on for. Anyone have any success with it as of late? Anyone get PiPed right in the middle of it and had it turn into a disaster?

I for one think education reimbursement is an important benefit. Most companies have it. You want to attract employees who are curious and motivated to better themselves. Your four year degree from whatever overpriced school you went to

See the sad thing about a guy like you is in 50 years you're gonna start doin' some thinkin' on your own and you're gonna come up with the fact that there are two certainties in life. One: don't do that. And two: You dropped a hundred and fifty grand on a f----n' education you coulda' got for a dollar fifty in late charges at the public library.

Where have you been mo--n? Do you realize people lost their job last year and this year? Do you realize oil and gas isn’t coming back and now we will layoff more before December and you want this company to pay for you to waste time and go to school on our dime and our time? Go away!

I agree, invest in yourself deadbeat. You probably went to some third tier school like LSU, TA&M, Texas, or worse Alabama, Miss St, or Auburn and now you want someone else to pay for you to go to a real school. You shouldn’t have been hired. We were right to pip you, now get lost hot shot wannabe. You probably don’t even show up to work deadbeat.

I guess it's only wryly humorous.
They also don't do charity matching anymore.
So funny, I forgot the punch line.

You’d have to work at Shell, Conoco, Chevron, Pioneer, etc to expect a benefit like that. Oh yeah, they have had their 401k match for months now as well.

I don't think they want to pay their employees to enhance their ability to leave, cheaper to just pip.

It has not come back yet. I've been watching it closely to see when it will come available again.

They will not invest in employees they want gone.

You will have to go work at Target to get that. That benefit is too much for one of the largest public oil companies to offer.

That was one of the first things that was stopped, well before the 401k freeze, etc

After a few layoffs and downsizing, they might entertain the idea of tuition reimbursement. They still have to restore the 401k matching in Nov.

Maybe once they shot themselves in the foot and they need to attract/retain workers
