Weren't there rumors about layoffs at the end of this or start of the next month? What happened to that?

Layoffs in 2021 to get the expense on this years books
No layoffs this year. We lost almost 100 from the benefit changes and actually have open job Mcors outside the company!!
That is, in 2022!
Was told by a very reliable source that an additional $4B needs to be cut from the budget...look for more layoffs in 2021!
no need to layoff people this year. They are taking away benefits instead after this year and having people voluntarily line up to leave. That was their goal.

In the Mobility group that I work in...there is absolutely no way they can do any layoffs. In fact, they are actively backfilling those that retired or are retiring by EOY (haven't done this in years),AND are making business cases to add additional headcount beyond that. Which of course is funny as had they not been laying off the last 5 years, they might have adequate headcount in place. There is a great deal of work right now and a lot more coming. A lot of it is being driven by 5G and also 3G Sunset.
No layoffs this year since the Stink's take-aways and the mass exodus that will be coming.
Next year, the wackings will continue. My upper management keeps saying they do not expect any layoffs next year. But just like the Stink, if their mouths are moving they are lying. They are already hiring to replace the people saying they are leaving because of the Stink.
I expect the Stink to continue his reign of te---r until he leaves. Why we need his is beyond me, except to give the Stink an opportunity to lift more $ into his bank account. Will Stink leave once TW spins off. I doubt it. Not without a diamond parachute.
And nothing will change until Ratty, Stinky and the BoD go. But they won't leave while T has $ for them to bust-out T.
No layoffs scheduled for 2021. But already there are budget shortages for 2022 regarding expense. Current talk centers around reducing contractors and/or not allowing backfills for those that are leaving by end of year(those leaving because of benefits changes). The only untouchable organization is security. Otherwise, again no concerns for 2021. But unknowns exist for 2022.
Layoffs will continue until morale improves!
