Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Anyone else stressing because you are already doing the work of 5 people and we are gonna lose more teammates due to the vax requirement?

What do y’all think of today’s an announcement?

What’s the latest count? How many people have we lost over the mandate?

Confused why anyone who is vaccinated and still scared of the unvaccinated is supporting this mandate, when clearly they don’t even trust their own vaccination. In reality the weekly testing option would have made the unvaccinated the safest in the office since you can still get and spread Covid with the vaccine.
There are many logical reasons to not want it, and those reasons shouldn’t be any employers or coworkers business. These individuals don’t lack critical thinking skills, they just simply have a differing opinion. And who cares. I personally hope a lot of great employees walk away and all of you cheering for their job loss hate your lives picking up the slack. I also think you should really pray that the next mandate doesn’t effect you or your loved ones. This thread is disturbing.

78% of hospitalizations are from the obese and nearly all deaths have multiple co-morbidities, just live a remotely healthy lifestyle and the covid risk isn't much higher than the vaccine risk.

"People against covid vaccine mandates are pro freedom and not wanting to take long term risks with their health to reduce the symptoms should they get a virus that exclusively ki--s fat old sick people."

Why is it acceptable to you that your teammate or their family dies as long as they are fat, an elder or have a pre-existing condition? Weren't you anti-vaxxers just saying you DON'T want employees treated as expendable based on their medical circumstances?

What is the quality of co-worker that we are losing to the vaccine mandate?

Antivaxxers and covid denialists lack critical thinking skills, they don't scrutinize information sources and they don't adapt to new circumstances.

From what I've seen at other organizations with mandates, antivaxxers did their teams a huge favor by leaving.

First you don’t want to go back to the office. Now you don’t want to get vaccinated. Some people are so immature. It’s a job. You don’t like the rules then quit. Why complain?

Company is doing a veiled RIF because the stock is tanking, so much for the business being impervious to bad times. Amazing how much money Is made by this company in ratio to the number of unhappy employees, over a million dollars in revenue per employee. Are we seeing that or just a 4% breadcrumb every year? “Let them eat cake!”

"I have to chuckle at these folks hiding behind the veil of being concerned about immunocompromised colleagues. Where was this concern annually with the flu? The flu can take someone's life just like COVID can. It's sad that this is so heavily politicized to the point where everyone saying this stuff magically forgets about other annual viruses."

Speak for yourself.

Don't let the EMT distract you from the easy out they have to cut employees.

crown has already said people can get medical exemptions. Protecting our immune-compromised teammates is why it is so important for people with healthy immune systems to vaccinate against covid, flu, measles, etc. Instead Crown coddled people wringing their hands about missed periods due to protein shedding.

I bet there are actually more people vaccinated than the stats show. Until recently I didn't put my vaccinated status in as there was no real reason to, and I thought it would influence the return to office decision. I'm perfectly content and more productive at home.
Myself and most of the relatively silent coworkers I know are relieved at the mandate.

Here are some links on the religious side with supreme court precedents:

Here is the gist of it:
The fact that no religious group espouses such beliefs or the fact that the religious group to which the individual professes to belong may not accept such belief will not determine whether the belief is a religious belief of the employee or prospective employee

I’m just going to highlight some simple logic that some people are glossing over. You can be both immune compromised and unvaccinated.

Another point - doctors have been targeted and punished for espousing Covid misinformation. This means they can have their medical license revoked. The system seems to favor those that recommend the vaccine at this point in time.

Good luck on getting a medical exemption. I’d be interested to hear if anyone has had a successful medical exemption yet? Or even a religious one?

My favorite part is going to be when they find out that the percent of employees they thought were vaccinated was really a lie. How many people do you think lied about it before and don't know what to do now that you have to show proof... how did we go from 80% to 60%? Or... you told us previously you were vaccinated in May, why does your card say October? Could be interesting.

Sad to say, but there is quite literally nothing anyone in this company can comment or argue with on this front. No business would risk loosing government contracts, even if it meant loosing 20% of their workforce (which I don’t think will happen, I’m betting it’s less than 10%). The executive order signed explicitly said if you were a federal government contractor vaccines are 100% mandated with no option to test out. You only can apply for religious or medical exemptions.

So be an adult, and figure out what you need to do to be happy. Please do not punish other people in this company with your negativity. If anything remember this when it’s time for you to vote.

"Personally, I have been vaccinated, but respect the rights of others to do weekly testing. "

People can be contagious and asymptomatic for three days before coughing or pop poz.

What about the rights of immunocompomised employees to a safe work place? of people's kids to not get permanently disabled from a preventable disease?

By Giving unvaccinated people a choice , we are allowing them to REMOVE choices from at-risk populations because Their choice affects more than just themselves.

Ya'll should start worrying about side effects unknown rather than TRASHING good people.

Downvote all you want but here's the deal - The legal jargon sent out clearly shows that CC had their lawyers playing out every scenario/using this as a way to not have to announce another round of layoffs, and pay absolutely nothing out to anyone they force out. The people holding out should have the option of weekly testing... they can bind together and sue CC. CC is banking on nobody wanting to spend time, money, and effort on bringing valid lawsuits against them. There is a reason President Biden went out of his way to mention the option of weekly testing for all government employees. It's up to CC employees if they want to let Crown 'win' and have a cost-free layoff masked as under the guise of vaccination. Personally, I have been vaccinated, but respect the rights of others to do weekly testing. To fire employees when they could simply work remotely is a disgrace, and we all know it. There's no reason that CC couldn't keep those folks remote.....you know the real motives here.

To the one commenting on easily replaceable people: just wait until those “easily replaceable” people in other industries don’t want to deliver your groceries to the supermarket or drive your kids to school.

@OldSchool_PM

I agree with everything you said up until the last part, at least in my group/district it's entirely leadership who are not vaccinated, so far it looks like only one is willing to leave over it though.

I personally think it’s irresponsible to have unvaccinated people working with people who have the shot as it’s been proven that vaccinated people can still take the virus home. While they won’t show symptoms, they can still pass it on to others who are susceptible to illness. I would be fine with those who refuse vaccination to work remotely just like anyone with the flu or any other contagious illnesses would. I do not, however believe that the unvaccinated should be let go from their jobs.

Very few will actually quit. There will be a lot of complaining and people saying they are leaving but that is the extent of it... They probably have already made appointments to get the vaccine...

The religious or medical exemptions aren’t that easy to get. The company does have it’s B3 values, and works on the honor system. Many of these comments feel like people who aren’t long term CC employees..perhaps from an acquisition? It would be nice to clear out those that don’t display company values — they are dragging down the whole tone of work.

I was talking to some coworkers the other day and we couldn’t believe the childish questions and comments being posed by people who think they are speaking for the majority. The people who are unvaccinated are less than 25% and are predominantly in the lower-level jobs (read: easily replaceable).

Re TMUS: https://www.fiercewireless.com/operators/t-mobile-follows-at-t-requiring-vaccines-for-some-employees

That was pre-government mandate. Quit whining and go get vaccinated or get a job outside of the telecom industry.

I’ll feel a heck of a lot safer once everyone left is vaccinated. Though my shares in stock for horse-dewormers might plummet; I guess I better sell those.

Just get either a religious or medical exemption. You think CC wants a discrimination lawsuit on their hands? What are you guys worried about?
