Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Staying focused on your goals..

I’m just working to meet HON's expectations while forgetting about my own goals. It's difficult to stay focused on your own growth and ambitions when this has become a place that constantly distracts everyone from their professional and personal goals. There has always been stress here but now it's been raised to a higher level. Do you manage to focus and actually achieve your goals in an atmosphere like this?

Lie to Hon about your goal performance. They do to you and wall street about theirs…

And, as others said, focus on YOUR goals.

The environment and atmosphere are toxic. Stay at your own risk and that of your family.

Make sure you are working for the right boss.. you.
Many people fail because they think a Honeywell manager is their “boss”.. doesn’t work that way.

Managers are nothing more than the attendants on the airplane. They make sure you find the right seat. Every now and then they will give mandatory trainings and when someone is unruly they will duct tape them to the seat and wait for help. They can’t fix your ticket. They can let you move to that empty seat in first class if you flirt enough.

My life became happier when I started writing my own goals and performance reviews. Could not care less about Honeywell hpd. Milestones, 50% cost reduction … all fake. Learning and investment in my capabilities is what matters and I have done well even at Honeywell. I have skills that are in demand.

Go ahead and tank my project by making it a youth hostel for RDE refuges just looking to milk my charge numbers. Put me on a pip or zero my mip and I will say goodbye with a clear conscience. Let the RDE refuges know they are now in charge. I am sure they will do g r e a t.

The whole HPD / goal setting process has been a joke for quite a few years now. Meaningless "check the box" activity. You know it's worthless when you get comments like " this is what we were told to do". I measure myself by - am I still getting a paycheck. I am short timer planning to hit eject soon. I suppose younger folks may get a little more real discussion.

It won't be for much longer, as India beckons.
