It's created by the ELT and the people they put in management positions on all levels in the company. It's no secret that the majority of good managers are long gone and that the people who replaced them got to those positions either through nepotism or brown-nosing. Those people care about nothing but themselves and it shows. The culture at Nike used to revolve around brand pride and cooperation. Now it's every man and woman for themselves. With this management, nobody should be surprised at the change.

Let’s be real, it was “every man/woman for themselves” brown nosing their way up the ladder long before JD came around… using buzz words and made up data to “socialize” the hard work of other people up the hierarchy is the backbone of this company
JD brought in McKinsey and it's apparent that share price is the north star for Nike. Directors, Senior Directors, and VPs will step on anyone's neck to get ahead and secure the favor of those above. JD's tenure is the beginning of the slow decline of this brand.
