This probably won't continue but previously many employees had minimal qualifications but were generously compensated for very easy jobs for many years. And they had above average benefits.
I wouldn't say current exec management is kind to employees but I don't see how anyone could argue my first point.

Awesome place to be pre 1984, not to shabby pre 1996, downhill rolling progressed 2005, off the cliff 2015, landed at the bottom 2020.

2015 Divestiture

1996 telecommunications act

2005 merger with AT&T

2015 John Donovan plan for shared workspace (i.e severely increase layoffs).

2021 take away you benefits.

Quit a build up of stress in ones career, however, having said that, I probably have more claim to the quote by Al Gore 'I built the internet' than he did and I ended up well. Anyway, See Ya!

Really depends on the group of guys you work with and manager. Good pay and the lunches on pay day. Bust your a-s and complete your load then meet up with co workers for a nice lunch.

BellSouth/AT&T have been key components for creating significant wealth for me/my family. It's still a beautiful country - though trending in the wrong direction.

Pay is good, benefits good, 401k good, lucky to have a pension, good. You want great go some place else. I go to work to have a life, work is not my life. If you’re that miserable, shine that resume up and move on.

The best part about working at AT&T according to 9 out of 10 doctors who handle depression is when you retire at T . ...... because everyone says it feels like being out on bond or they got a call from the governor .

Pay is good. Everything else feels like I sold my soul to the devil to earn a living.

It’s the only place you can mess up a splice, per engineering design, take people out of service and get forced on OT to correct it on their dime!

It all depends on who you ask and their relationship to other people working at AT&T ......if you know what I mean .

Only the Rat and the Stink can report there is anything good about working at T. They are not employees, they are more like thieves. They filled their bank accounts with hundred of millions for being the most incompetent B O O B S - scratch that competent thieves. Their goal was to make T the most toxic environment.

Everyone else, shareholders, customers, the employees all paid the price for them running T into the ground.

If you are already predisposed to AT&T cellular being good in your area, the 50% discount is good. The 401k plan (match, investment options) is good. That's about it.
