Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

We all are so lucky and we don't even know it

Most banks are already back in hybrid mode or full time and yet, we don't get to go back until January.
I have interview with several competitors and they are all in hybrid mode.
I don't plan on leaving unless they throw me out.

@exk+1d5f2FUz have you seen the Q2 2021 earnings statement transcript? He was flat out asked about reducing headcount and said we have a high attrition rate and that “Over time, we would love to do as much of it through natural attrition as possible given the size of the company, we have significant attrition. And people self-select because of how we're going about doing things.”

Sounds to me like he has no plans of reversing course on RTO.

To echo what a previous poster already mentioned don’t believe the media hype about RTO. Dimon, Solomon and co are full of sh@t. I know people at GS only going once per week and a number of JPM that are doing the same. All banks will be hybrid moving forward even if they aren’t advertising it for the time being. Only FO S&T and a small number of risk compliance functions will be required to report to the office 5 days a week.

You sound a bit crazy but maybe, just MAYBE you’re onto something. In any case, I’m glad RTO was finally pushed back. About time the bank did the right thing here.

I like where your head is at. Keep the pressure on people.

Keep fighting the good fight people. We are winning. Management had no choice but cave in to demands of the majority of us who don’t want to RTO. There is strength in numbers. Don’t fill out any vaccine surveys, voice your opinion and demand hybrid or permanent WFH. BOTTOM LINE….DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO MAKE IT AS DIFFICULT AS POSSIBLE FOR THEM TO FORCE US BACK.

Correct. Not all banks — but many — are pushing back on even being hybrid. “But we are a relationship culture!” “We work better in person!” Meanwhile, HR has to call folks every week about being exposed to COVID at a big meeting etc.

WF is a hot mess, but it’s a fact that January RTO as a starting point is much better than at many other companies.

Not true. I know many friends who are still remote or optional 1 day a week at other banks.

That’s why all they do is whine instead of getting another job

Agreed, and I have observed the same through a few interviews and comments from friends at other banks.
