Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Nearly three decades in the industry

In all those years, I'm yet to see a leadership this bad and the company's direction so all over the place - here or at any of my previous companies. I'm a few years away from retirement and I can't wait to be out of this mess. I just hope they don't find a way to get rid of me before it's time because nothing would surprise me from this bunch.

“I've been her since January of 1980. The decisions of the last 10+ years have been so disappointing. Leadership and the BOD need to be accountable - and held accountable by the shareholders - both the mom's and dad's, grandparents who rely on these shares as sources of income. Even the big firms who are shareholders. All of top Leadership, the ones with the CEO titles, etc - specifically our CEO should give back all compensation for 2021, not even take compensation for 2022 - and i mean ALL compensation - until they fix this. Do you agree ?“

Over 30 years for me and I 100% agree with you!

John Stankey is the most arrogant, overpaid and demoralizing CEO that I've ever worked under. As far as he's concerned T's problems are the fault of employees who've been here too long or the line managers who aren't doing enough to keep employees from leaving the business. Despite being the mastermind behind some of the worst M&A deals in business history - Randall Stephenson might have been the CEO but Stankey pushed the deals! Don't even get me started on Randall Stephenson - that's a whole other rant!!

If anyone asks me where I retired from I tell them Illinois Bell. Much too embarrassed to say AT&T!

Look at RS and JS’s tenures as a project to grow T-Mobile into a major communications company. In that light they were wildly successful.

Yes.
Hired in 1979. Retired in 2017.
WE made it...much to their chagrin.
Few more will.
Life is so much better.
