If you want a WFH job, apply there.

I vowed never to spend a lot of money on clothes for work again after the lockdown. I wore sweat pants and only put on a nice shirt for zoom call every day and realized I don’t need to dry clean the dress shirt when I only put it on for the occasional zoom call. I will wear what I have for the next few years as I realize how much money is wasted on clothes for work.

I too, paid off my 25k credit balance during the lockdown. It was amazing to see the charges I had during lockdown, it was like 2 or 3 purchases as compared to 30 or 40 charges on a regular work month commuting to work and buying lunch, coffee, something at a shop that I really didn’t need.

They take a pay cut because many people spend $5-10k a year just on commuting costs, train pass, gas, parking, wear and tear on car, dry cleaning clothes, etc. then there is the fact that you are not spending money to eat out and buy coffee every day. Then factor in never having to buy work clothes again, and that could also be another 5-10k a year just on clothes and shoes for work, if you’re a woman, it’s probably even more money on clothes. If you work from home, you need 1 or 2 nice suits, office outfits for zoom calls, etc.

I’d take a 15-20k pay cut to WFH. During covid lockdown, I spend practically no money on all the aforementioned the entire lockdown and paid my credit card off.

Why do people say take a pay cut to work remotely? That sounds stupid of an employer to say. My job function hasn't changed, therefore my pay structure shouldn't change. I don't see how the location of my bu-t sitting has anything to do with how much pay I receive.

Many companies will now have to offer the same WFH option or risk losing talent.

Basically you take a pay cut to work remotely, from wherever you want, which sounds like an amazing perk. Many will save money in commuting costs, have more time in their day for their own personal/family needs and most importantly, be able to work effectively and productively from the safety of their own home without putting themselves at risk for catching covid. What’s holding people back on giving 100% at work and being motivated is a lot of people , both vaccinated and unvaccinated are scared of getting sick. This is not how businesses succeed, having scared employees who worry all day they may catch something and bring it home to their families and loved ones. It’s absolutely the right thing to do at this point in history since covid is not going away any time soon.

BofA has poured cement on their feet in a work from office side walk.
I wonder how they will be agile to adapt for change.

They were so quick to move jobs to India then that didn't work they panicked and had to look for offices in Chester uk...and even CLT because NYC costs of ops heads where 10-15k more...what a waste... one terrible decision after another.

I’m sure more companies will follow this financial model of allowing people to WFH. They’ll get a pay cut and the company will have a win/win, paying employees less and cutting office real estate costs.

It’s the way of the future.
