Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Long term associates

I love how all the young people get raises for absolutely no reason, and yet long term associates get 💩, thanks Sam’s club leaders

To this I say, it is in our power as long term associates to take control. Do less, come in, do the minimum, and leave on time. Push back when asked to do more. Say nothing, but don’t ki-l yourself to be a superstar. Those days are gone. You will not be compensated for going above and beyond. And don’t share your knowledge. It’s not up to you to teach and train others if there is no incentive. And it is a shame that it has come to this.

Clearly the long term associates have been completely forgotten about and devalued. We are the ones who have stuck around through it all, good and bad. We have gone through massive changes with the company and some of us have been "misplaced" several times. (Position was done away with so we were kicked to another position.) BUT we are STILL here. We deserve better treatment by this corporation. We deserve raises. We have a wealth of knowledge but we are still unappreciated. Shame on you Sams Club, shame on you.

I have worked for Sam's for 17 yrs that is a combination because I left then came back. I love how people say to us, old timers to stop complaining. Well, I say it's because of those people we are getting stepped on. the new hires are young, have no work ethic and are over paid to be a number in the club. I know I could quit and move on but why should I have to ? Maybe these young new hires should actually work , then maybe I would say ok they deserve to be making what I make but I think it's ridiculous to bring someone off the street making what I make after being there as long as I have. All these trolls should have some consideration instead of hating on us.

It's clear that you live fulfilling lives if you come here every day crying about a dollar raise. Get over yourselves, almost as bad as the marketing people begging for severance.

It is clear that this company does not care about the long term, older associates. We are the ones who have carried the clubs and what do we get? Nothing, no respect. I say let them sink.
