Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

I’m out, how about you?

I have been with Exxon a few years and was ranked very good. I am looking around and will leave when I get a good offer. I may make less money in salary but with 401k, bonus, and possibly rsu, I w I’ll make as much or more in the first year, certainly more after the first year. The next company (not O&G) will not at least be as toxic.

With the 8% each year for the next few years and most of the current NSIs going to other companies, i figure they will NSI me at some time no matter what I do. I will not stay around for that bs. The job market is great now, so I will make the move on my terms. I have seen too many good friends who were NSI for no reason. Until I find that better job, I will do as little as possible while claiming to work from home. F*CK Exxon. You brought this on yourselves.

I agree with OP. I saw too many good people told they were NI or NSI. The system is broken. I am looking for another job and plan on doing nothing until then. I too will say I’m working from home. If it takes me a year and I get NSI’d, then at least I had a good time getting paid for nothing. Strange thing is, since I started doing nothing, my supervisor has been praising me. Go figure!

Don’t blame the game when you are bad at it. Get lost if you are that capable.

Hey, I'm with you. I'm out too.
Could we maybe do this as a duo, or get more members and be a team?
Maybe we could do our own start-up and make beaucoup money.
A commune. Outside waco. Yes!

Good job, just do it. I moved to a non-O&G company recently, base salary is a little lower than what I got from XOM, however, the total compensation (incl bonus structure, pension, and 401K matching) at my new company, is a lot higher. So much more relaxed environment and no forced ranking. I am so happy here now, I am dreaming to retire from here.
