Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Is this "Return to Office" push Temporary?

My manager is telling me I need to go into the office because that is the push from the top-down (The majority of my team works in different states btw so why???). I go into the office, there are 4 people total in a building for hundreds, its a ghost town.

Anyway, I had moved for this job a few years ago and was renting and saving for a house (lmao inflation). I've been extending the lease month to month expecting to get some clarity on what to expect. Prior to COVID the WFM was very flexible, I just had to do my job and that was that (imagine).

Now, 2021. Half of my team has quit. I'm having to take the responsibilities of directors that left (I'm just a humble IC). Inflation already means my "raise" is a pay cut, add to that month to month lease prices. So I am expected to do more work for less pay, and I have to commute to an office for a meaningless attendance check so our executives don't feel stupid for wasting money on furniture???

Good luck to you all XD

Price Waterhouse Cooper is offering FULL WORK FROM HOME positions, as are many other firms EXCEPT First D..... eh. Fiserv.

I have heard that the big sites like Alpharetta are mostly empty too, the amenities are all gone. All at Fiserv should be looking and moving on from this once fine company.

All indications point to everyone not located at a go-forward location will be hit with the 'RELO or GTFO' business. Even sites that are safe "for the time being".

That being said, thus far I've seen that the 'RELO or GTFO' is being applied in a haphazard, capricious way.

My resume is already on the desks of hiring managers at peer or near-peer competitors. If I have to jump ship without 'the package', then so be it.

It's too bad, though. I like my team, my role and my boss. But the anxiety and ambiguity is ki----g me.

I would anticipate the rest of your teams in other states will be asked to relocate or take a severance before too long. WFH is a thing of the past unless you have a travel position.
