Layoffs in Digital Life?

I heard that Digital Life is for sell. Are they going to keep the current team since we have all the expertise is running this specialized system?

It makes a lot of sense

Shut the business down for free or pay someone to take it?

Golly gee, which will the Stink choose?

It makes a lot of sense given the fact that it has been on life support for the past three years. It is a liability, not an asset. If you can't sell it, pay Brinks to take it off our hands. Beats continuing to throw more coin down a rathole.

I thought T was paying Brinks to take it off their hands.

That literally makes zero sense

It makes sense if the strategy was to become an overall home technology provider. You know, like we started Connect Tech around the same time. The service that was like a help desk for your home computer?

Years ago, when this first started, one of our internal propaganda videos talking about how wonderful Digital Life is showed a testimonial from a customer. Customer was relaxing on the beach, when the app notified him that his garage door had been opened. Then the customer called the police from the beach. Excuse me? The customer called the police? With a real alarm system, there is a monitoring center that notifies the police. The customer should never have to do that.

It seemed so weird that I investigated further and discovered that with Digital Life, there is (was) a monitoring center, but garage door sensors are incapable of alarming to the monitoring center; they can only notify the customer directly. Right then, I knew that the service was off to a bad start.

Digital Life never made any sense at all. Why would a communications company wade into the home security business dominated by ADT, Brinks and hundreds of local providers? It was a loser from the start but part of the genius Randall Stephensons idea to become some sort of vast media and communications empire.

digital life was so mismanaged it was a joke I felt sorry for the folks when they bought. they put the so called pro managers on digital life and then moved them out after they screwed the thing up. but you know the managers were leaders and really knew what they were doing. lol hard to say that with a straight face.

typical att take a great company and crash it to the ground.

I didn't know that was still a thing. Seems like eons ago that was all the dear leaders talked about (for a solid 15 minutes or so).

what rock have you been under...there are no leaders running digital life, it has been on life support for years! It will be the next group BU to go at a loss.

Digital life is done. They are offloading customers to a this party and will turn down the Digital Life product in Feb 2022. It’s already been made public, Digital Life is done.

It's been for sale for several years. They can't find a foolish enough buyer.
