That would be the fired or you-no-longer-work-here segment!! Good luck!

The new reporting structure if followed thru with effective management was needed badly. They dumped 25% of the revenue but only gave up 1 billion in free cash flow (Not a bad trade) The issue that still is hanging out there is “infrastructure” still contains all of the low growth pieces of IBM that will have to be addressed. (power shrinking at 10%, storage shrinking at 10%, TSS shrinking at 7%) Yes IBM IaaS is growing but at the expense of the HW/SW pieces and the TSS that gets serviced via the HW/SW piece. Lab services is mostly driven by the HW/SW direct sales piece, so as goes HW/SW so goes lab services. IBM has projected that “infrastructure” will break even over time (subject to the business cycle), but I expect in first half of 2022, IBM will have to circle back and deal with the scale out legacy, scale out TSS, and lower lab services My guesstimate is another 7-8 billion of revenue will be in play. Who thinks Bain is waiting in the wings to capture that revenue and form a partnership with IBM much like GF did. Remember IBM has already announce 1 billion in restructuring charges for 2022.

Services, SW, and HW. Where have I seen this before? 😂 I mean when? 😂

Ibm is going back to 10 years ago. These execs are useless!

Doesn't matter how you stack the textures or colors. A tu-d sandwich can only be a tu-d sandwich

@1kfr+1d9MMFw9 the ads during nfl still mention AI and cloud.
Will they have to redo those ads?🤔

Where is IBM could on that picture? They have public cloud AWS, Azure, others at the bottom of the stack but no IBM cloud ? Is IBM getting out of the public cloud business or is their cloud so insignificant that it doesn’t even warrant a mention on their own marchitecture diagram.

Interesting too how Watson Health is now just called ... "Health" (and only a tiny sliver in the pie chart).

Odd that the re-naming removed all mention of AI (Cognitive) and Cloud. I thought we were maniacally focused on AI and Cloud.

IBM Cloud Platform is merged into infrastructure distributed systems.

  • The article calls it IaaS.
  • The investor call said regulator clouds.

Management must keep moving our deck chairs around otherwise the investors may panic.

Just wondering in which segment the Cloud services (Expert Labs, Garage and Expertise Connect) which are essentially Consulting will go... Any idea?

As always, IBM is changing every 5 years the way they report results to obviously make it harder for analysts to figure out what is going on... things will never change with IBM!! Once a crook, always a crook!

More IBM chart ware to obfuscate the obvious. Declining revenues and profit regardless of how you slice it. What a shame!

I read that three times and as far as I can tell, it amounts to:

  • Bits of GTS not going to Kyndryl will become part of Systems... excuse me, Infrastructure. (I think we all expected that?)
  • Names and subsegments are changed, presumably to make comparisons to prior years difficult

It's not clear to me where Storage Software goes (the article is a bit contradictory), but some of us have long thought it would make more sense for us to be part of Cloud software (which is actually where much of the revenue is reported externally anyway...). For one thing, it might persuade Cloud to stop undermining us by partnering with competing products from other vendors. So maybe that will finally happen
