Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

They're unaware

Management is truly unaware of how many people are unhappy here (and I'm not talking about the mandate or any of that cr-p) and willing to walk away if they find a better option. One of our best employees quit two weeks ago and our manager has been in panic mode since then. And all I can do is think really? This came as a shock to you? You were unprepared for it? How??? How do you not see that your direct reports are miserable and either try to fix it or at least be ready for an exodus when it happens? I guess it just goes to show further how incompetent managers are here.

They do monitor this site so they are aware, and as someone else posted, they don't care. My team has had a 50 % turn over in the last 2 years. Do you think they made the working conditions better to retain the rest? Better raises or bonuses? Nope, instead they just added more procedures and bs to make every day just a little more miserable.

@qua+1dB4DvUd I get your point but it's not true based on regulations - taking in deposits requires lending. Reducing capabilities loses clients which lowers deposits...it's all intertwined.

they have $2 trillion in deposits and a Fed racket to make easy bps.

they could never issue another loan, execute another trade, and so forth, and be just fine in terms of net income. they could ditch half the headcount and be happy.

its just a reality.

Oh they are aware. They are just delusional and think it won’t happen to them or their team. Flight risk is discussed during talent planning. My department has lost 1/4 of its headcount this year. We “selectively countered” a few to stay (as if these associates wouldn’t tell others about their new pay and further drive down morale). If you value your health, family, sanity, or just want a new job to grow your skills, find a new opportunity. The culture right now within many areas of the company is toxic.
