You're not wrong, but you're also not nice.

we have a growing segment society that struggles mentally and emotionally, principally because they lack a family.

they watch maddow. and all the world's ills come down to trump and republicans, who will always be spoken of with nicknames. this is arrested development. it's related to why they have no family.

@1wjh+1dBOzfpd thanks for the chuckle. I don't agree with the sentiment, but that was funny right there.

why do these layoff threads always read like watching an episode of Maddow on MSNBC?

Yes they are all trumpers. Who else would be that ignorant ?

They have already looked to see what color most of the unvaxed employees are so they will be backpedaling on the mandate. Contrary to the fake news stories, it's not a bunch of trumpers who are against being forced to inject stuff.

Management certainly understands that there is no credible effort to assess employee performance in the ever increasingly bizarre HR annual review process. A random 10% of self selected attitude cases would be a great easy cut. Easy as there is no SUB to pay and no way to rate people anyway. With no SUB the equation is positive no matter the cuts. You do lose problem employees and have plenty of cash to hire rational employees.

I will predict many employees will threaten to quit because of the mandate and when the deadline arrives almost all of them will get vaccinated...

Let’s be realistic. If as so little as 10% of all employees are unvaccinated and got terminated at the same time, the company would be really shooting itself in the foot. More shots in the foot if it’s more than 10%, which is highly likely. While that is happening, more people leave in droves because of the declining benefits and now teams are really understaffed. Deliverables are not met, NAV errors happen, and people do the bare minimum because they can’t keep up with the demands. Are they that daft to make such a threat?

how do you find time to post these scare tactics in quick succession on the message boards of MS, GS, JPM, Citi, BoA etc

how would you have that insider knowledge? you dont, of course. Its unadulterated propaganda

It’s sad, but undeniably the right thing to do. Problem is that they are going to regret this as they cannot control the selection of people. Many of the brightest people in tech will simply never take a Trump era vaccine. Wing nuts for sure, but they’ll walk out the door and land on their feet with higher pay working at home. Sr management thinks that Agile guarantees a consistent process and that we just need to slot in the next widget (person) to continue the project. That actually applies to management far more than app dev SMEs. I see bad things arising.

Announcing termination dates in this manner? Doubtful. It will need to be done in written communication so that all of the appropriate legal disclosures can be made.
