Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Finding a job at a smaller company that does not require mandates?

Someone here said recently that, due to shortage of labor, it is easy to find a job in a company that those who do not want to be vaccinated could go to.

The friend tried to find a job in one such company and yes, it is possible... He did failed to find an equivalent position and pay though.

What are your experiences like?

@1svr+1dBnb6Fh speaks truth.

Most people, and I mean 90+ percent, screaming about Je--s never read the book and have no idea who the guy was, assuming there ever was a guy.

Real or not, he actually said some pretty smart stuff about how we should treat each other, and building a wall or kicking people out wasn't on his list.

He was pretty rough on bankers, though, so Wells, best get down to the river...

There was never a return to normal option. You move forward, you never move back. You accept what happened, make plans to ensure these things don't get as out of hand in the future, and you move on. Same as 9/11. We didn't go back to just letting anyone get close to a gate anymore. We didn't go back to letting people roam airports without going through security. We didn't let down our guard and suddenly get more lenient in background checks of incoming nationals. That tragedy happened, we learned from it, mourned the losses, put in new checks and balances, and moved forward.

Normal is how well you adjust to this present moment, and if you can't handle the changes and can't keep up, then its you who needs help - not everyone else.

@1nwm+1dBnb6Fh Ya know, I’m as militantly pro-vax as they come, but even though I disagree with you, I don’t think you’re being unreasonable here. WF is still the enemy, and the whole situation is fubar. Good luck getting out man, sincerely.

Perhaps seek employment in a country without a mandate?

Then the rest of us can get America back to normal.

Some countries require vaccination proof, most of the developed world, so you'll want to avoid those.

I'm thinking you may have some success in one of the third world countries.

Good luck!

I am speaking about the MAGA crazies who are more aligned with Russia or the "talee-ban" than the rest.

The red side is never the right side. Good luck with that collapse, as the blue states basically fund the red ones.

Every one I have applied for at other companies has explicitly said they require a vaccine. They won't even give a second interview to unvaxxed people.

I'm currently looking because I can see the writing on the wall that RTO will probably require the jab. I had been waiting to see where this went, but the email on Friday about early voluntary return requiring it pushed me over the edge. I've been full time WFH for 10 years and NOW I have to come into an office?!?! It makes absolutely no sense. And if I'm allowed to stay remote but then still require a shot even though I'm not going into the office? Even crazier!

WF isn't currently worth me getting vax'd for something I already got and recovered from. I've been here over 15 years and originally thought I'd retire here in 20 years. But no more; the culture is toxic, opportunities for advancement are scarce unless you are in the right hub location for THAT job, no transparency from management, poor leadership, and chaotic reorg after reorg.

If I find a great job that's full time remote and they require the shot, I may actually do it because that job would be worth it for me. But for this dumpster fire? Heck no!

How did you find a remote job at a company that is smaller than 100 employees? I am looking as well, but my current location makes it challenging to find an equivalent position at a small company. What companies are hiring that are against mandates, and offer remote work?

@zxv+1dBnb6Fh not the type of conservatives of today. You are speaking of conservatives who came over from England and were loyal to the Crown. Did you skip all 3rd -8th grades?

@lpy+1dBnb6Fh the red states always are on the wrong side. The conservatives also supported England and fought on their side during the American Revolution.

Just did it. Easy to find a remote job, and the pay was about 20% higher than WF. Also working on a move from a blue state to a red state that’s more likely to fight for freedom and be on the right side of things if civil war breaks out.
