'Fun place'

Here are some of the latest Nike Employee Reviews on Indeed:

  • "Cool"
  • "Fun workplace"
  • "Really fun workplace"
  • "Fun place to work at as a student"
  • "Fun place to work !!"

As far as I'm concerned, this is one of the most ridiculous attempts to present Nike as a good workplace. What do you say, are you having fun here? /s.

The CEO approval rate is a huge red flag on accuracy

It’s almost as if some of you forget that the overwhelmingly majority of Nike employees are 18-26 year-olds working in Nike retail stores. That’s where those Indeed reviews are mostly coming from. If you’re in that age category and still figuring your life out there are probably far worse places to work. I’ve toured some Nike retail stores as a Nike corporate employee and the people working in those stores seemed to genuinely like it. Keep in mind many of them are college students, or they’re saving money for college, or they’re working retail before deciding what else they want to do with their lives. Those jobs are largely stepping stones to something else rather than “careers”. It’s a completely different perspective than working in corporate.

Kinda surprised I’m the first poster to point this out.

In regards to this comment, "Who has fun at work? ". I would disagree, I think the goal is for work to be fun and energy producing while adding value through skills/experience. I've had moments where the people and the actual work were very enjoyable at Nike. However, this gradually got worse where I could not take it anymore and it was impacting my overall happiness, so I left. And, now, I've re-discovered having fun at work at a different company.

Probably written by interns who show up and get the white glove treatment or some kid who got an FTE position right out of college because daddy knows a Sr. Director.

Complete, utter damage control.

Left a few months ago of my own will. Just got a very in-depth survey asking questions why I left, if I went elsewhere, etc. I let it fly, both barrels. So glad to be gone.

Who has fun at work? Why would work ever be 'fun'? Are these people psychopaths'?
