Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

The worst thing that happened to me

There is no point in saying that this is the best thing that has happened to me, as many say when under great stress they finally leave Fiserv or when they are cut because they could not agree to relocation.

I don't want to comfort myself that way. Why would I? What this company has done to me is the worst thing that has happened to me. They previously drained all my energy and then cut me in a very perfidious way. Why call it the best thing that ever happened to me?

All I can say is after I was laid-off over a year ago my mental and physical health improved greatly. My blood pressure is significantly down, I have lost 40#'s and my stress level is much lower. Good riddens FiServ

Sadly I felt the same way then they cut the 401k match last year and then announced $50 million in back2business/clover freebies. That $50 million roughly was your 401k match. Really unscrupulous to do such in guise of a noble cause.

@nff+1dDz0hCv - In an indirect crass way, this has some truth. Did you notice the company wants you to donate money to charity but promote it on the Fiserv website. So Fiserv looks like they are supporting charities but they actually are not. The employees are.

@nff+1dDz0hCv The moral of the story is that FB would love to take your kidney and sell it to the father of that little girl.

Good advice being posted here about moving on. Here's one more story. Years ago (not Fiserv) I went through a similar situation. As I had done many nights previously I was sitting in front of the TV being angry over the situation and feeling sorry for myself. As I was watching the news a story came on in which they interviewed a Dad who was crying and pleading for a new kidney for his daughter so she would live. At that moment I looked at my wife and said "You know, that guys got a problem. I'll find a new job." Totally changed my perspective and outlook on the situation and life. And BTW, the little girl did get new kidney.

Think of this as nothing more than a really bad break up. The relationship and honeymoon were likely over a long time ago yet you stayed. Now this is the catalyst to something new, better and a place that appreciates you. Whether we are OFS or OFD we all deserve to feel the love. Take that severance, get your affairs in order and snap out of. I wish you and all here the best. We will all be fine maybe even better!

Keep your chin up, you will find another job soon enough and forget what Slimserv did to you in no time. It's not worth being pi---d off, it's time to move on. You will be a better person in the long run while Frank and Slimserv will remain complete douchebags.

By staying negative, upset, and angry in how you look at this situation, you are letting the company scumbags get into your mind and it will eat at you. Don't let them. It is not healthy. Comfort yourself in a positive way-apply to as many jobs as you can. In the scheme of life, this company is not worth it.

You will when you get a new job. The stress of just being cut and dealing with the politics of this company is the worst thing. For us that are moving on, the stress of this cr-p is now gone and we can live life again. Also, we find better jobs, better benefits and more money.
