If you plan on using a 3rd party manage your 401k - they might ask for the 401k Plan vs the SPD. If so, you will have to sent a letter to ATT to request it. The Plan document is not online. ATT will mail you a CD-ROM.

Anyone should just roll the 401 to an IRA, to get complete control.
I’m an ex employee and just looked at mine online 2 days ago. It was no more difficult to find than when I was employed by T.
They can charge you for sending a CDROM. That's why.
