Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Anyone attending the DE&I Summit ATM?

It's astounding how much more diverse the speakers are than our Board of Directors.

@4xpr+1dEMqH7e Sounds like you believe people should be offered jobs and retained for reasons outside of their skills and performance. Rides over for you pal, wanting a free ride.

"DE&I is institutionalized racism, it's just racism against the "right group" and therefore "good" in the eyes of some."

Now allegedly being on the business end of it, how does that make you feel?

DE&I is institutionalized racism, it's just racism against the "right group" and therefore "good" in the eyes of some. Someday glorious day MLKs dream will be realized, but what that day comes, things like DE&I will be long gone.

WOKENESS has taken center stage. Check out James Carvilles recent PBS interview.

One theme I consistently see upvoted on here is that people are sick of DEI! We must keep this theme going and hold the line against this scam. Let us all be assessed for the skills we have at the workplace, not the DEI junk.

@1kpx+1dEMqH7e Good assessment. But his underlying point is well spoken. It is truly sad that one would even have to think about lying to avoid being let go. DEI is complete window dressing.

I would highly advise that you not lie about veteran status. It can kick off a whole chain of actions that have serious repercussions.

Regarding DE&I and reducing the possibility of getting a Layoff.

We've all seen it happen where a great employee gets a layoff while someone who isn't as good is allowed to stay. Why is that...?

I'll tell you why.

Specific metrics - including those pertaining to DE&I - are systematically collected, logged and analyzed. All the big companies are doing this. Computers slice, dice, sort and count these metrics. The result is certain people are placed at a disadvantage through no fault of their own by virtue of a "calculated score". It is this score that determines where a person falls on the layoff list when DE&I is in the forefront.

Mass layoff decisions are not made by looking at individual people. They're made simply looking at rows and rows of numbers which are sorted in a certain way, and that order determines the order in which people are targeted for layoff. Need to reduce headcount by 10,000 people? Simply take the bottom 10,000 numbers off this list. Makes it easy and painless for the HR execs.

Here is what you need to do in order to tip the scales in your favor if you want to avoid a DE&I related layoff:

First, go to Teamworks and log on to your "Personal Information" page.

Under the "Ethniity" section, identify yourself as "Blck". Remember, we are simply talking about 1's and 0's in a computer, and this gives you a 1.

Under "Disability", you'll want to indicate that "Yes, I have a disability". Again, we're not talking about the morality of an able-bodied person wrongly claiming to be disabled. We're simply talking about getting a 1 or a 0 into a particular field in a computer database.

Under "Veteran Status", indicate anything other than the default of "I am not a veteran". Remember, it's just 1's and 0's in a big database.

Under "Seual Orienttion", identify yourself as anything other than "Stra*ght". Remember again: we're not talking about you as a person. We're simply talking about 1's and 0's that get added up in a database.

Under "Ge*der Identity". Self-identify as "Yes". That gets you another "one" in your tally.

Some people will be able to honestly answer some of the above suggestions. But there are also people who are NOT in any of these protected categorizations. Those people are automatically placed at a disadvantage through no fault of their own. Remember that all of this data is just 1's and 0's in a computer. No human looks at it, and even if they did it wouldn't make sense. And certainly nobody who knows you will be looking at that data.

These suggestions will help level the playing field for all people, no matter who they are, and no matter what they are. Treat everyone equal!

When is the last time you heard of a straight white Christian father being the head of a corporate DEI program? I thought so. And what is the FIRST and LAST word in the DEI acronym? Yep, pretty sad..

@avx+1dEMqH7e all of the people in tech that came from india, many of them displaced american workers that were just as qualified. If you try to tell us that they don't tend to hire people from their country over people from other countries, I will laugh at you.

The worst part about these things is that some of the attendees actually think the bank believes all this 'diversity' nonsense.

Skin color is not a job qualification.

Gender is not a job qualification.

Se-ual orientation is not a job qualification.

Every normal person knows this, but the bank has to spend time and money pretending like these things matter, hi into decisions, etc.
